    摘要: A volume chamber is formed by a valve member, an inner peripheral wall of a tubular portion and a bottom portion of a stopper when the valve member is engaged with tubular portion. A communication passage communicates between the volume chamber and one of an intermediate passage of a valve body and a tertiary passage of the stopper. The communication passage is formed at a location, which is spaced from a contact surface between the tubular portion and the valve member by a first predetermined distance and is also spaced from a contact surface between the bottom portion and the first urging member by a second predetermined distance.

The elastic member is curved to extend approximately along a major arc of curvature and is elastically deformable to change a radius of curvature thereof. The contact members are circularly arranged along an inner circumferential side or an outer circumferential side of the elastic member so that each of the contact members is opposed to the elastic member in a radial direction of the elastic member. Each of the contact members has a sidewall that is opposed to the elastic member in the radial direction and is curved along an arc of curvature. A radius of curvature of the sidewall is shorter than the radius of curvature of the elastic member in its natural state.

    摘要: In a fuel injection pump, a tappet is provided on an end thereof on a side of a cam ring with a hollow. Force acting on the tappet from a plunger due to fuel pressure is dispersed to a sliding contact surface outside the hollow so that contact face pressure between the tappet and the cam ring is smaller. As the fuel pressure becomes higher, larger resilient deformation of the tappet causes a diameter of the hollow smaller so that the tappet comes in flat slidable contact with the cam ring, resulting in preventing the contact portion between the tappet and the cam ring from being seized with frictional heat.

The cam-ring has a metal bush on an inner surface thereon. The cam-ring rotates relative to the cam, but is prevented from a rotation itself. The cam has a groove inclined with respect to a rotating axis of the cam. The groove has openings on both axial ends of the cam. The groove introduces fuel as a lubricant into a gap between the cam and the metal bush. The fuel introduced into the gap improves a lubricity and prevents a sticking.

    摘要: A fuel injection pump is provided which stops fuel discharge when a movable member for pressurizing the fuel is lifted beyond top dead center, thereby leaving a cam ring. The pump prevents the movable member from colliding with the cam ring and damaging the members of the pump. The movable member has a plunger. An outer diameter d of one portion of the plunger has a diameter smaller than an inner diameter D2 of an inner fitting surface of a cylinder in which the plunger is positioned. An outer diameter D1 of a different portion of the plunger is somewhat larger than the inner diameter D2 of the inner fitting surface of the cylinder. When a drive shaft overruns, the speed of an orbital movement of the cam. ring and a speed of reciprocating movements of the movable member increases. This causes an inertial force of the movable member in the lifting direction thereof to exceed an urging force of a spring. As such, the plunger is sometimes lifted beyond a top dead center. In such a case, the larger diameter portions press fit into the smaller inner fitting surface, and the reciprocating movements of the movable member stop.

    摘要: In a flow amount control device, column shaped valve element is slidably disposed in a cylindrical inner circumferential wall of a valve body. The valve element is provided along an outer circumference thereof with two ring shaped grooves. Fuel stored in the ring shaped grooves serves to form film of oil for lubrication in a sliding clearance between the valve element and the valve body so that frictional resistance therebetween is smaller and the valve element slides smoothly on the valve body. Accordingly, the device can control flow amount of fuel accurately.
