Disclosed is a label having a base layer (A) of a uniaxially stretched film containing 55 to 95 wt % of a thermoplastic resin and an inorganic or organic fine powder having an average grain size of 0.2 to 2 &mgr;m in an amount more than 5 wt % and not more than 45 wt %; a surface layer (B) of a uniaxially stretched film provided on one surface of the base layer (A), containing 35 to 85 wt % of a thermoplastic resin and 15 to 65 wt % of an inorganic fine powder having an average grain size of 0.2 to 2 &mgr;m; and an adhesive layer (C) of a uniaxially stretched film provided on the opposite surface of the base layer (A), containing 90 to 99 wt % of a thermoplastic resin having a melting point of 80 to 140° C., and 1 to 10 wt % of an inorganic or organic fine powder having an average grain size of 0.7 to 3 &mgr;m. The label is characterized in that being excellent in opacity, Clark stiffness, placement property in the in-mold forming and adhesiveness, and being less causative of blister or orange peel texture after the in-mold forming.

A synthetic paper made of a stretched resin film; said stretched resin film being obtained by stretching a resin film having as a support a resin composition which contains: (A) from 30 to 80% by weight of a crystalline polyolefin resin; and (B) from 70 to 20% by weight of milled calcium carbonate particles at a temperature lower than the melting point of said crystalline polyolefin resin employed as the component (A); and an inkjet recording paper made by using this synthetic paper. Because of having projections of finely milled calcium carbonate particles with a hydrophilic surface around which a number of fine cracks are formed, the synthetic paper shows improved moisture absorptivity for water color inks and aqueous adhesives, quick drying properties and excellent printability.

Disclosed is a transparent film comprising a substrate layer (A) of a uniaxially stretched film containing 95 to 100 wt % of thermoplastic resin and 0 to 5 wt % of an inorganic or organic fine powder having an average particle size of 0.2 to 2 &mgr;m, a surface layer (B) of a uniaxially stretched film containing 85 to 99 wt % of a thermoplastic resin and 1 to 15 wt % of an inorganic fine powder having an average particle size of 0.7 to 3 &mgr;m and being provided on one surface of the substrate layer (A), and an adhesive layer (C) of a uniaxially stretched film containing 90 to 99 wt % of a thermoplastic resin having a melting point of 80 to 140° C. and containing 1 to 10 wt % of an inorganic or organic fine powder having an average particle size of 0.7 to 3 &mgr;m and being provided on the other surface of the substrate layer (A). The transparent label is characterized in that having an excellent transparency and suitability for in-mold forming.
