摘要: In one embodiment, a liquid crystal display device includes a first substrate and a second substrate. In the first substrate, gate lines extend in a first direction, and a first source line and a second source line extend in a second direction orthogonally crossing the first direction. A pixel electrode having a first belt-like main electrode is arranged approximately in a central portion between the first source line and the second source line and extending in the second direction. A first belt-like sub-electrode covers the gate line between the first source line and the second source line and extending in the first direction. The second substrate includes a counter electrode having a second main electrode arranged on the first and second source lines and extending in the second direction. A liquid crystal layer is held between the first substrate and the second substrate.

摘要: According to one embodiment, a display device includes a first substrate, a second substrate, a display layer, a seal unit, a protrusion and a spacing adjustment layer. The display layer is provided between the first substrate and the second substrate. The seal unit surrounds the display layer between the first substrate and the second substrate. The protrusion is provided along an outer edge of the seal unit at an outside of the seal unit on a first major surface of the first substrate facing the display layer. The spacing adjustment layer is provided along the outer edge at the outside of the seal unit, includes a portion overlaying the protrusion as viewed along a direction from the first substrate toward the second substrate, and is in contact with the protrusion.

摘要: In one embodiment, a liquid crystal display device comprises a pixel electrode including a first main electrode disposed between a first line and a second line and extending like a belt in a first extending direction. A first counter electrode includes a second main electrode extending like a belt in the first extending direction, a second counter electrode having a third main electrode extending like a belt in the first extending direction. The second and third main electrodes are disposed on both sides of the first main electrode, and an initial alignment direction of the liquid crystal molecules is parallel with a direction passing through an interstice between the first end side of the first main electrode and the second line, and through an interstice between the second end side of the first main electrode and the first line.

摘要: A liquid crystal display panel comprises an array substrate having a light blocking portion formed on a substrate, an insulating film that located on the substrate and includes contact holes overlapping the light blocking portion, and pixels including the contact holes, an opposite substrate, a liquid crystal layer, and columnar spacers each located between the array substrate and the opposite substrate so as to straddle the adjacent pixels and to overlap the light blocking portion which is located away from a corresponding one of the contact holes, the columnar spacers holding the gap between the substrates, wherein a cross section of each of the columnar spacers which is parallel to a surface of the array substrate and a surface of the opposite substrate has a major axis, and the major axis crosses a line joining together the contact holes in the pixels overlapped by the spacers.

摘要: In one embodiment, a liquid crystal panel includes an array substrate, a counter substrate arranged opposing the array substrate through a gap between the array substrate and the counter substrate and a liquid crystal layer held between the gap. The array substrate includes a scanning line, a signal line, a switching element arranged close to an intersection of the scanning line with the signal line. A metal seat layer is formed on an insulating layer facing the signal line. A pillar-shaped spacer is formed on the metal seat layer for holding the gap between the array substrate and the counter substrate.

摘要: According to one embodiment, a liquid crystal display includes a first substrate including a gate wire, a source wire intersecting with the gate wire, a pixel electrode with a contact portion and a main pixel electrode extending from the contact portion, and a semiconductor layer arranged under the source wire and intersecting with the gate wire and bending under the source wire so as to extend to below the contact portion, a second substrate opposed to the array substrate, and a liquid crystal layer between the first and second substrate. The semiconductor layer is electrically connected to the source wire on one side of a position of the gate wire and to the contact portion on another side of the gate wire.

摘要: A liquid crystal display panel includes a plurality of pixels arranged in a first direction and a second direction orthogonally crossing with the first direction. A first alignment pattern is formed in the counter electrode. The first alignment pattern faces the pixel electrode and extending in the first direction. A second alignment pattern is formed in the counter electrode. The second alignment pattern also faces the pixel electrode and extends in the second direction intersecting with the first alignment pattern. An expanding alignment portion is arranged at the intersecting portion of the first alignment pattern and the second alignment pattern. The first and second alignment patterns are formed of alignment slits or alignment protrusions arranged in the counter substrate.
