摘要： A video recording apparatus includes a data acquisition section, an encoding section, and a recording section. With a plurality of groups of pictures corresponding to a cell in an optical disk format set as a recording unit, the encoding section generates streaming data by time division multiplexing of encoded data using fixed-data-length packs according to the optical disk format, and multiplexes to the streaming data specific information that includes information necessary for generating a navigation pack in the optical disk format and that is difficult to obtain without analyzing the packs containing the encoded video and audio data, such that the specific information is assigned to each of the groups of pictures using a private pack in the streaming data.

If a position difference between the position of an object determined by the displayed layout assistant image, and a size difference between the size of an object determined by the displayed layout assistant image and the size of the detected object within the imaged image, are both within predetermined ranges, a layout assistant image other than that displayed is displayed overlaid on the imaged image.

摘要： In a system for encoding, transmitting, and decoding data in real time, irrespective of the jittering in a transmission path and the encoding bit rate used, synchronization is established between encoder end decoder ends with ease and reliability in the present invention. A change of a difference ‘d’ between STC (output value of STC counter) at the decoder end and SCR extracted from an encoding stream (MPEG2-PS) is integrated over a given time. Depending on whether the integrated value is positive or negative, a determination is made whether the data processing speed at the decoder end is faster than the encoder end. When the integrated value is positive, the input clock frequency of the STC counter at the decoder end is reduced, and when the integrated value is negative, the input clock frequency thereof is increased.
