A first sleeve 30 regulates the horizontal relative position between an upper mold 10 and a lower mold 20 that are insertable into the first sleeve 30 from its both end sides. A second sleeve 40 provided inside the first sleeve 30 and surrounding the outer periphery of a molding surface 21 of the lower mold 20 supports at least part of an outer peripheral portion of a molding material 50 placed on the molding surface 21 of the lower mold 20, thereby preventing position offset and slip-off of the molding material 50. In this state, the molding material 50 is press-molded between the upper mold 10 and the lower mold 20.

In the present invention, when configuring a control system of an inverter performing power conversion between AC and DC, a frequency computation is performed based on biaxial voltage amounts obtained through two current regulators in such a way that each of biaxial component currents obtained by detecting an AC circuit current and performing a rotational coordinate transformation matches each respective command value and phase information in synchronization with an electromotive force power supply of the AC circuit is obtained by integrating the frequency to perform the rotational coordinate transformation of the AC current and also the inverter is caused to operate by generating a PWM switching signal from the biaxial voltage amounts to perform necessary power conversion control.

Correlations between a residual capacity of a secondary battery and 4 parameters of an internal resistance, temperature, a discharge current and one of an open circuit voltage and a discharge voltage of the secondary battery are previously determined and a contour map of the residual capacity and 2 of the parameters is made, for example. Then, at least 2 varying parameters selected from the 4 parameters are detected while the secondary battery is in use and collated with the correlations to estimate the residual capacity of the secondary battery.

A method for producing a grid for a lead storage battery has a first step, a second step and a cooling step performed between the first and second step. In the first step, lead alloy is sequentially rolled over a plurality of rolls. In the second step, the rolled sheet obtained at the first step is machined to produce a grid for a lead storage battery. In the cooling step, the rolled sheet is cooled so that (1) the surface temperature thereof is 10° C. or lower at least once and (2) the total time during which the rolled sheet is exposed to an atmosphere of higher than 10° C. is 10 hours or less.
