摘要: A method for the recovery of a metal from a liquid medium containing the metal I solution or in finely divided insoluble from comprises contacting the medium with a functionalized polymer fiber capable of binding the metal and recovering the metal from the fiber. The polymer fiber is suitably a polyolefin, a fluorinated polyethylene, cellulose or viscose, which is functionalized by the radiation grafting of at least one monomer. The method is particularly suitable for the recovery of platinum group metals from process residues.

摘要: The present invention teaches a method, system, terminals and service node for geographically positioning a first mobile radio terminal (MS1) within a radio network (100) comprising unsynchronised radio base stations by using a plurality of second fixed radio terminals (MS2) whereby the positions of the radio base stations and the second fixed radio terminals are known. First and second radio terminals (MS1,MS2) measure the relative receive times between the timing signals downlink (113-118) received from at least three radio base stations (BS1,BS2,BS3) and the second fixed radio terminals (MS2)send them to a service node (107) in the network (100) using them for calculating the transmission time offsets of the timing signals downlink. Calculating the position of the first mobile radio terminal (MS1) is performed either in the service node (107) in the network (100) or in the terminal (MS1) itself, after respectively sending relative receive time measurements from the first mobile radio terminal (MS1) to the service node (107), or broadcasting transmission time offset values and known positions from the service node (107) to the first radio terminal (MS1) to be positioned.

摘要: A process for the production of a graft copolymer comprises reacting an irradiated polymer in a reaction mixture comprising a first phase and a second phase. The first phase comprises a source of at least one non-water soluble monomer and the second phase comprises water and optionally, a water miscible organic solvent. The first and second phases are substantially immiscible and non-emusifiel. A high degree on monomer conversion is achieved.

摘要: A method is provided for recovering metals from a spent catalyst composition containing an organic contaminant and catalytically active metals on a catalyst support. The metals are leached from the spent catalyst composition by adding under stirring an ionic liquid. The ionic liquid containing the leached metals is separated from the organic contaminant and the catalyst support by adding under stirring an anti-solvent. After removing the organic contaminant and the catalyst support, the leached metals are separated from the ionic liquid for example by selective precipitation, ion exchange, solvent extraction, electrodeposition, chromatographic, or pyrometallurgical methods.

摘要: A fibrous catalyst comprises at least one transition metal anchored to a polymer fiber having a plurality of grafted units grafted to a polymer backbone. The polymer backbone may be a polyolefin, a fluorinated polyethylene, cellulose or viscose. The grafted units comprise a salt of a carboxylic acid, which in a preferred embodiment is a sodium salt of acrylic acid. The catalysts are particularly suitable for scavenging oxygen from sealed packages or containers and may further comprise a chemical indicator for the presence or absence of oxygen.
