    摘要: The present invention is a method for constructing fully-compensating composite pulses of arbitrary accuracy that can correct pulse power errors to any desired order. The invention has two preferred embodiments, the Trotter-Suzuki (TS) embodiment and the Solovay-Kitaev (SK) embodiment. Each preferred embodiment can be represented by a mathematical algorithm, which can be easily implemented on a computer, for constructing a list of phases {φ1, . . . , φl} and rotation angles {θ1, . . . , θl} that amounts to a composite pulse. The pulses can then be used for nuclear magnetic resonance, quantum computing, or any other application based on pulsed excitations. The present invention, as embodied in the pulse sequences SK n and TS n, allows the user to transform a pulse sequence of error ε to a robust pulse sequence with error O(εn) for arbitrary n. The sequences can be implemented using any existing quantum computer or NMR hardware.

    摘要: A device is provided for crimping a coupling on the end of a hose. The device has a die assembly for holding the hose and coupling spaced apart from and in axial alignment with a crimping mechanism comprised of a hydraulic cylinder and a pusher. The cylinder has an internal stop. A fluid operated actuator mechanism moves the crimping mechanism axially downward to engage the die assembly. The device has an adjusting mechanism for adjusting the crimping mechanism in a predetermined relationship to the die assembly. The crimping mechanism and the adjusting mechanism cooperate so that when the crimping mechanism engages the internal stop, the coupling is crimped to the hose end in accordance with the predetermined relationship. The adjusting mechanism contains an angular scale and a linear scale both with marked divisions. The adjusting mechanism provides for easy recalibration of the device.

    摘要: An accelerometer system (FIG. 2) suitable for measuring low-frequency accelerations in inertial systems is also able to measure high-frequency vibrational accelerations which give rise to e.g. sculling effects in inertial platform arrangements employing three such accelerometer systems. The system comprises a low-frequency inertial quality force feedback accelerometer 10' and a high-frequency, e.g. piezo-electric, accelerometer 46. The output of h.f. accelerometer 46 is summed at 48 with the feedback signal from transducer 32' in the l.f. accelerometer feedback loop, the faster response of the h.f. accelerometer providing most of the feedback to balance the l.f. loop without significant displacement of mass 11'. Up to several hundred Hz the displacement of mass 11' and the feedback component from transducer 32' is only to overcome the error in the h.f. accelerometer signals and at higher frequencies the response of the h.f. accelerometer alone provides a measure of acceleration offering a wide system bandwidth. Because of the limited displacement of the proof mass the l.f. feedback loop may have a transfer function minimizing vibropendulous errors at lower frequencies.

Each of the compartments in the set include elongated support members extending in a direction of elongation; perforated barriers extending between at least two of the elongated support members forming an opening at a first end, the opening adapted to receive a kayak or a canoe, and an opening at a second end of elongated support members; a barrier over the opening at the second end; and a displaceable cover mounted over the opening at the first end. In one aspect, the storage arrangement includes a mechanism adapted to releasably engage each of the plurality of compartments from an adjacent compartment. Methods for renting kayaks, paddle boards, and/or canoes are also provided.

    摘要: About 1/2 cc of a sterile composition (5) dropped into the rotor drive air feed line (11) of a dental handpiece (10) while holding the handpiece upside down protects and lubricates the handpiece bearings and turbine during the subsequent auto-clave sterilization process. An additional dosage inserted into the bur hole after the auto-clave process further lubricates the handpiece and inhibits rust from forming on the handpiece bearings and turbine during use. The pre-sterilization dosage and post-sterilization dosage of measured amounts may be separately packaged in disposable capsules (20, 30). The composition (5) is made by heat mixing until sterile about 10% by volume of a sterile solution of Power-Up.TM. NNL-690, which is a liquid hydrocarbon boundary lubricant; and corrosion inhibitor, with 90% by volume of pharmaceutical grade mineral oil.

    摘要: A pump is supported on a housing and has an inlet port coupled to a lubricant supply and an outlet port coupled to a tube outlet opening for delivering a predetermined amount of the lubricant during an activated cycle of the pump. An actuator, when triggered, operates in an actuated state for a predetermined duration during which time the pump is activated for one cycle and delivers a predetermined amount of the lubricant to the tube outlet opening. A switch is independently selectable for triggering the actuator to activate only the active cycle of the pump. The actuator may be a spring-biased solenoid or a timer circuit with a relay. The pump may be a piston-diaphragm type or any one of various motor driven types. The pump is activated for about 1 second, without also activating a cleaning cycle or a purging cycle and delivers ⅛ to ½ cc of a lubricant comprising about 90% by volume of a pharmaceutical grade mineral oil and about 10% by volume of NNL-690. The duration of the active cycle is adjustable and controls the amount of lubricant delivered by the pump. The lubricant is delivered at a pressure of about 2.6 psi well into the air intake hole of the handpiece while holding the handpiece upside down so as to assure that a maximum amount of the lubricant is delivered as near as possible to and reaches and remains in the handpiece rotor assembly to enable the formation of an effective eutectic film during a subsequent sterilization step.

    摘要: A two piece shank structure releasably retains a single central shank tube detachable from the shanks. The shanks are affixed in position on the surface of two double edged flukes. The double edged flukes are attached to a main fluke shaft. The anchor line extends from the boat through the central shank tube where it attaches to a U-shaped bracket. The U-shaped bracket is attached centrally to the main fluke shaft by a rotatable collar. Both shanks are manufactured with an inherent spring biasing in the material, allowing them to be slightly separated for snap in connection of the central shank tube, and also maintains pressure against the central shank tube retaining it in position under normal use. Once the anchor has become snagged under a log or similar underwater snag it may be retrieved by pulling the anchor line at an angle relative to the shanks with the pull needing to be generally opposite in direction to which the anchor is suspected of sliding under a snag. With sufficient tension sometimes coupled with a jerk of the anchor line, the central shank tube will pop-out from between the two spring biased shanks allowing the anchor line to pivot with the U-shaped bracket. The anchor line through the middle of the shank tube and attaching to the rotatable U-shaped bracket allows the anchor to be pulled back out from underneath a snag in the opposite direction from which it was moving when snagged.
