Abstract:
A container includes a receptacle (6) for holding a substance, drug or liquid, and having an opening (7) to the receptacle 6 through which the substance can be dispensed and having a circular and domed spreading surface (15) adjacent the opening for spreading and the accurate delivery of a thin layer of liquid over an area of skin. The container also includes a closure (3) including a cap (4) having a seal or plug (16) for sealing the receptacle (6), and a collar (5) with a cam follower surface (8) rotatable relative to the cap about an axis, whereby rotation of the collar (5) relative to the cap (4) moves the seal in an axial direction away from a seal position.
Abstract:
A substance dispensing device associated with a usage indicator is disclosed. The device includes a substance storage container and a pump operable to dispense substance from the container. The usage indicator includes a movable member that is movable in response to operation of the pump. The movable member includes an indicator providing a visual indication of the extent to which substance has been dispensed from the device.
Abstract:
An electrical distribution system having a load center for programmably and remotely controlling a plurality of circuit breakers, an expander unit coupled to the load center and a plurality of external switches for providing signals to the load center representative of the status of the switches. The load center contains a control module that continually receives inputs from the expander unit via an interface module. It also contains a keyboard and display for programming instructions for closing and opening the individual circuit breakers and for displaying the status of the circuit breakers. The interface module, coupled to the control module, causes the circuit breakers to open and close according to programmed instructions received from the control module or another external device. The expander unit contains a plurality of input circuits coupled to external switches. An expander circuit having a microprocessor receives signals from the input circuits, which are representative of the status of the external switches, and continually provides signals representative of the status of the switches to the load center for the load center to cause the circuit breakers to open and close as a function of the status of the external switches. The expander circuit also continually receives information from the load center about the status of the individual circuit breakers and provides, to a plurality of output terminals, signals representative of the status of the circuit breakers. The output terminals are coupled to a display device for displaying the status of individual circuit breakers. The output terminal also may be used to activate other devices.
Abstract:
In order to determine whether arcing is present in an electrical circuit, a sensor signal corresponding to current in said electrical circuit is processed. The sensor signal is filtered to determine the presence of noise in a predetermined frequency range and produce a corresponding filtered signal. The corresponding filtered signal is compared to a reference threshold voltage to generate an output signal potentially indicative of arcing. A selection is made of one from a plurality of available threshold voltages as the reference threshold voltage for use in the comparing operation. The detection operation supports either or both branch feeder arc fault detection and/or series arc fault detection.
Abstract:
A method and system for determining whether arcing is present in an electrical circuit. The methods includes sensing a change in an alternating current in the circuit and developing a corresponding input signal, analyzing the input signal to determine the presence of broadband noise in a predetermined range of frequencies, and producing a corresponding output signal. The method further includes determining a type of load connected to the electrical circuit, based at least in part upon the input signal and the output signal, incrementing one or more of a plurality of counters in a predetermined fashion in accordance with the input signal and the output signal and determining whether an arcing fault is present based at least in part on the states of one or more of a plurality of counters. The method also includes decrementing one or more of the plurality of counters based upon a secondary analysis.
Abstract:
A display mounting device for holding a display object has a mounting region with at least one mounting edge. The display mounting device also has an opening, into which the mounting region may be inserted; a resilient placement member, which bends to allow enlargement of the opening as the mounting region is inserted into the opening, and returns to or towards its normal orientation when the mounting region has been fully inserted, thereby assisting in holding the display object in position; at least one stabilising member to assist in holding the display object in position; and at least one retaining member, co-operating with the mounting edge to inhibit withdrawal of the mounting region from the opening, thereby assisting in holding the display object in position
Abstract:
A substance dispensing device is disclosed having a body that defines a chamber for receiving a substance capsule. The capsule is operable to dispense substance therefrom and has an outlet through which substance is dispensed. The body has two relatively movable parts that are moved relatively apart from a rest position to condition the device for use. A closure member associated with the movable part obstructs the outlet when the movable parts are in the rest position.
