Abstract: Systems and methods of controlling a dispatch operation of an energy storage system are provided. In particular, a degradation value of a present dispatch state of an energy storage system can be determined. The present dispatch state can specify one or more energy storage units presently coupled to the system. The degradation value can be determined based at least in part on one or more operating parameters, such as temperature, open circuit voltage, charge or discharge current, and/or contactor life. The degradation value can then be compared against one or more degradation values associated with one or more candidate dispatch states. A dispatch state can then be selected based on the comparison. One or more energy storage units can be selectively coupled to the energy storage system based at least in part on the selected dispatch state.

Abstract: A system for managing devices supplied through a power grid is proposed. Each device is configured to consume over time electric power according to at least one respective power profile when operating. The system comprises at least one unit interfaced with the devices for exchanging data. The at least one unit collects power profile data indicative of the power profiles of the devices, and generates a time schedule of the device operations by distributing over time start times of the power profiles in such a way that at any time the total power consumption of the devices is kept under a maximum power threshold of the power grid.

Abstract: A method for dispatching buildings in a demand response program event including generating data sets for each of the buildings, each set having energy consumption values along with corresponding time and outside temperature values, where the energy consumption values within each set are shifted by one of a plurality of lag values relative to the corresponding time and outside temperature values, and where each of the plurality of lag values is different from other ones of the plurality of lag values; performing a non-linear parabolic analysis on each set to yield non-linear parabolic model parameters and a residual; determining a least valued residual from all residuals yielded, the least valued residual indicating a corresponding energy lag for the each of the buildings; and using energy lags for all of the buildings to generate a dispatch schedule for the demand response program event according to a prioritization of the energy lags.

Abstract: A system and a method for configuring an intelligent electronic device are described. A baseline configuration of the IED and a delta configuration are processed by a configurator to thereby obtain a target configuration for the IED. The delta configuration is responsive to a target operation of the IED, and the target operation is dependent on the target configuration. The baseline configuration is defined by default parametric values of the IED and the delta configuration is defined by delta parametric values. The delta parametric values are differences between the default parametric values of the IED and respective target parametric values of the target operation.

Abstract: A household electric appliance and a household electric system are provided which are capable of quickly responding to the electric power demand in which the peak cut of the power consumption is requested. The household electric appliance comprises: a receiving unit that receives a request for a peak cut of power consumption at a predetermined rate from a remote controller and a mobile terminal; a drive unit that drives a power-consuming object to be driven; and a control unit that controls an action of the drive unit. The control unit, in the case of reception of the peak cut request from the remote controller or the mobile terminal, controls the action of the drive unit so as to cut a maximum value of the power consumption within the appliance based on the requested rate.
