Abstract: An erosion control slurry is disclosed. The slurry includes water and a substrate, wherein the substrate comprises: mulch at a weight of x; bentonite clay at a weight of about 0.25x to about 0.495x; and cellulosic water dispersible polymer or starch at a weight of about 0.0025x to about 0.125x. Also disclosed are a substrate that can be mixed with liquid to provide an erosion control slurry, and methods of controlling or reducing erosion.

Abstract: An odor suppressing cover material for a bulk material pile and method for applying the cover material are disclosed. The cover composition includes at least 50 weight percent water; 1 to 50 weight percent of a bentonite clay; 0.1% to 5% cellulosic water dispersible polymer or starch; and 0.02% to 1% of a mixture containing at least some lipid essential oil and at least some ethoxylated alkylphenol. The cover composition may additionally and optionally contain Portland cement, colorant and fibers.

Abstract: A cover composition comprises at least about 50 weight percent water, about 1 to about 50 weight percent of cement and/or fly ash, at least some fiber, at least some water dispersible polymer, and at least some acid, the cover composition being free of foaming agent. The acid is present in an amount sufficient to maintain the pH of the bulk material cover composition between about 1.0 and about 6.0. Also provided is a composition consisting essentially of about 70 to about 80 weight percent cellulosic water dispersible polymer, about 15 to about 30 weight percent fiber, and about 0.1 to about 5 weight percent acid, wherein the acid maintains the pH of the composition between about 1.0 and about 6.0.
