The present invention is directed to the use of a composite comprising a layer (L1) selected from the group of polyurethane layers, polyisocyanurat layers and polyurea layers as a landfill liner as well as a process for preparing a composite landfill liner comprising a layer (L1) selected from the group of polyurethane layers, polyisocyanurat layers and polyurea layers, the process comprising the step of applying a reaction mixture which is suitable to form a product selected from the group of polyurethane, polyisocyanurat and polyurea products onto a surface. Furthermore, the present invention is directed to a composite comprising a layer (L1) selected from the group of polyurethane layers, polyisocyanurat layers and polyurea layers, a primer layer on one surface of layer (L1), and a protective layer (L2) selected from the group of mortar layers or elastomer layers on the surface of the primer layer. In particular, the present invention is directed to the use of a composite comprising a polyurethane foam layer (L1) as a landfill liner, wherein the layer (L1) comprises a spray product as well as a preparing a composite landfill liner comprising a polyurethane foam layer (L1), the process comprising the step of applying a reaction mixture which is suitable to form a polyurethane foam onto a surface. Finally, the present invention is directed to a composite comprising a polyurethane foam layer (L1), a primer layer on one surface of layer (L1), and a protective layer (L2) selected from the group of mortar layers or elastomer layers on the surface of the primer layer.

A method for lining an existing waste disposal site having a waste level includes, for example: installing perimeter barrier walls about the site and interior barrier walls within the perimeter barrier walls to define cells; transferring waste, such as for example ash, from one of the cells to one or more other cells to form an empty cell with a layer of contaminated material at the bottom of the empty cell; removing the layer of contaminated material from the empty cell to form a clean cell with a noncontaminated bottom layer; installing a barrier liner layer in the clean cell to form a lined cell; and transferring waste from other cells into the lined cell.

An odor suppressing cover material for a bulk material pile and method for applying the cover material are disclosed. The cover composition includes at least 50 weight percent water; 1 to 50 weight percent of a bentonite clay; 0.1% to 5% cellulosic water dispersible polymer or starch; and 0.02% to 1% of a mixture containing at least some lipid essential oil and at least some ethoxylated alkylphenol. The cover composition may additionally and optionally contain Portland cement, colorant and fibers.

A method for effective and efficient water or wastewater aerosolization and industry specific and regulatory agency approved ADC, soil stabilization or penetrating solution dissemination over identified and specific areas that are to be addressed. The water or wastewater and industry or regulatory body specifically approved ADC, soil stabilization or penetrating reagent solution(s) is directed to an “Integrated Mobile Aerosolization System (IMAS)” or other system having a turbine and being integrated and mobile. The turbine is driven so as to generate a system of air. Integrated pumps are utilized to move the water or wastewater and industry or regulatory body specific and ADC, soil stabilization or penetrating reagent solution(s) to a series of nozzles that aerosolizes the water or wastewater and ADC, soil stabilization or penetrating reagent solution into the path of the system of air. The water or wastewater and ADC, soil stabilization or penetrating reagent solution form a mixture that is entrained in the system of air. The mixture of water or wastewater and ADC, soil stabilizing or penetrating reagent solution is directed over a specific area that is to be covered with an approved material. The water or wastewater and ADC, soil stabilization or penetrating reagent solution form that industry specific and regulatory body approved covering material that is applied to the specific area.

A system for strengthening a sloped structure comprises first and second opposing sides, a bottom side, fill material, a plurality of facing baskets adjacent the first side, a plurality of reinforcing members disposed within the fill material, and an impermeable membrane. The second side is adapted to be adjacent the sloped structure. The bottom side adjoins bottom edges of the first and second sides, thereby forming a cavity within the first, second, and bottom sides. The fill material is disposed within the cavity. The impermeable membrane encapsulates at least a portion of the fill material and one or more of the reinforcing members. The facing baskets and the reinforcing members are positioned in a plurality of layers, with each layer comprising one facing basket and one corresponding reinforcing member. The impermeable membrane is positioned to span two or more layers of the plurality of layers.

An exemplary embodiment relates to a containment lining system comprising a plurality of connectable thermoplastic body panels, perimeter panels, and corner panels. The panels are adapted for substantially liquid-tight end-to-end connection and side-to-side connection. The perimeter and corner panels are equipped with raised perimeter ribs adapted to provide containment on at least a portion of the perimeter of the lining. The system may be used for containing industrial site waste and leaked fluids, as well as natural precipitation, to provide for controlled recovery or disposal for liquids in the contained lining system and to facilitate removal and transfer of such liquids to a selected destination.
