The process comprises mixing the residues with phenol in the absence of acidic reagents to precipitate a bisphenol-A-phenol crystalline adduct and recovering bisphenol-A from the separated adduct.

    摘要: A dimensionally size-efficient aircraft being of a twin-fuselage configuration that addresses long-range high-capacity passenger commercial or military application needs, unique in that propelling engines (two, three, or four engine arrangements) are centrally mounted aft of a central cross-wing section, that section addressing the structural requirements of fuselage attachment with a means of passage between fuselages, the outer main wings being free from hanging appendages, thereby enabling efficient aerodynamic-lift wing design, the configuration using a split stabilizer and a split vertical tail for stable aerodynamic control. Engine locations are biased high and aft with the central and outer wings providing ground noise abatement while in flight, passenger cabin noise low due to aft engine locations.Efficiencies of operation derive from: 1) a low overall weight/revenue seat ratio, 2) large and adaptable passenger floor plans, 3) compatibility with existing ground terminal facilities, 4) multiple engine configuration selections enabled by this aircraft layout, both turbo-fan and turbo-prop, and 5) opportunities of growth within this configuration. It is a low wave-drag configuration that better approaches the cross-sectional frontal-area shape ideal for minimum drag at near transonic speeds. This disclosure represents a general design concept and not a specific point design.

    摘要: A stacked tube submunitions dispenser (11) comprises an array (15) of nested launch tube clusters (23) disposed within a dispenser envelope (19). Each cluster (23) includes a plurality of fixed launch tubes (17) uniformly arranged around the central axis of the envelope (19) so that the angle between adjacent launch tubes (17) of a cluster (23) is substantially equal. The launch tubes (17) extend rearwardly and outwardly from the central axis from the envelope (19) in a substantially conical configuration. Each launch tube (17) includes a guide surface (33) for supporting a submunition (35) in a stowed position, a guide surface (37) for guiding the submunition during a dispensing event; and means for dispensing (39, 41) the submunition. Additionally, each launch tube includes a jettisonable aerodynamic cover (21) which provides the envelope (19) with a clean aerodynamic configuration. An additional volume (43) is available rearward of the submunition (35) but inside the envelope (19).

    摘要: A system for purifying a gas provided with an apparatus comprising a main container defining a substantially closed chamber, an intake fitting having an intake projecting from the chamber and having inside the chamber a filter element, an outlet fitting having an outlet projecting from the chamber offset from the intake and having inside the chamber a filter element offset from the filter element of the intake fitting, and means defining in the chamber an internally sealed well between the filters. A baffle is provided in the chamber between the filters so that gas passing between the filters is deflected by the baffle. A heater is provided in the well. An outer container surrounds the main container and defines a space therearound. This space is insulated, either by being filled with an insulating material or by being evacuated. An active material generally fills the chamber around the filters and well so that a gas passing through the chamber from the intake filter to the outlet filter contacts the active material. Optionally the device may also have partitions defining in the chamber a second internally sealed well or a thermocouple. This thermocouple permits one to monitor the temperature of the active material bed.
