摘要: A method for manufacturing a thermoplastic hanging file folder, and the folder formed by such method. A web of thermoplastic sheet material is provided, where the web has a width with first and second opposed side edge portions. In a separate step, at least one thermoplastic support bar profile extrusion is formed, wherein each support bar profile extrusion comprises a relatively thick upper portion tapering to a correspondingly thinner lower portion. An opposed side edge portion of the thermoplastic web is positioned over the thin portion of the thermoplastic support bar profile extrusion to form a region of contact. In a bonding step, the thermoplastic support bar profile extrusion or extrusions are bonded to corresponding edges of the thermoplastic sheet at the region(s) of contact. A predetermined length of the thermoplastic web, having the thermoplastic support bar profile or profiles bonded thereon, is then separated from a remaining portion of the web to form the hanging file folder.

摘要: A reinforced shelf filing folder having front and rear panel members connected along a fold line and a tab member connected to a first side edge of the rear panel member. Reinforcement is applied to both sides of the tab member and to the outer surface of the fold line extending onto the adjacent surfaces of the front nd rear panel members. Finally, additional reinforcement means is optionally applied to the outer surfaces of the front and rear panel members, disposed along a side portion of the rear panel member opposite the first side edge and over the fold line to a corresponding portion on the front panel member. Alternatively, the additional reinforcement can be applied to the outer and inner sides of the front panel member along the first side edge. These reinforcements increase the wear resistance and life of the folder.

摘要: An expandable folder is provided which includes a front panel member, a rear panel member, and a gusset member which connects peripheral portions of the bottoms of the front and rear panel members and at least a portion of the sides of the panel members to form the expandable folder. The gusset member includes a sheet having a plurality of accordion-like folds, with terminal folds of the sheet being wider than the other folds, and the terminal folds are connected to the front and rear panel members to enhance the connection therebetween. The expandable folder further comprises interior reinforcing strips positioned along at least part of the connection between the gusset member and panel members peripheral portion for preventing separation of the front and rear panel members from the gusset member when the folder is used. Reinforcing strips may also be provided along the top or corners of the gusset member or on outer peripheral portions of the panel members. In addition, the outer surfaces of the panel members may be coated with a polymer to increase the resistance of the folder to water penetration and to protect the folder from disfigurement.

摘要: A plastic tab for indexing or marking a folder or an edge portion of an article such as an organizer or storage system. The lower portion of the tab has two downwardly extending walls, between which an edge of the folder or other article may be placed. The downwardly extending walls are configured and adapted to create an interference fit when the folder or other article is inserted between the walls of the tab. The interference fit enables the tab to remain securely in the desired position along the edge portion. The tab is made of a flexible polymeric material so that it may be mounted, re-positioned or removed easily. Removal of the tab from a wall edge causes the walls to flex apart and thereby eliminate or minimize the interference fit between the tab lower walls and the article on which the tab is mounted. Removal of the tab is therefore a smooth and simple operation that minimizes breakage of the tab or damage to the folder, organizer or storage medium.
