The spacing distance (A) between the two supports (4.1, 4.2) of the deflecting shaft (2) is reduced for larger fabric tensions to be measured and is increased for smaller fabric tensions to be measured. Furthermore, the invention relates to a corresponding weaving machine.

This portion (6a) of the treatment fluid (6) that is conveyed into the following treatment zone (1a) is conveyed decoupled from the passage region of the film (4) in the treatment zones (1, 1a), wherein the respective treatment zones (1, 1a) are equipped with a heat exchanger, by means of which the portion (6a) of the treatment fluid (6) conveyed to it is adaptable to the temperature that is process-technically required in this treatment zone for the thermal treatment of the film (4).

Two motor units can be provided respectively above and below the weaving plane to drive the reed together. With these measures, the driving force is increased, yet the drive arrangement is confined to the available installation space.

The method according to the invention is characterized in that the shedding machine is run-up to a predetermined overspeed between the time points t0 and t1, and that the gradient of the rotational speed progression of the shedding machine is more negative in a later section of the start phase than in an earlier section.
