    摘要: The invention relates to an improved flashing system and method for controlling water and air intrusion around windows, doors, louvers and other wall penetrations. More specifically, the invention utilizes commercially available products such as coated polyethylene sheet material and elastomeric rubber adhesive sealant in a unique manner. It has been found that this polyethylene coated material can be creased and folded to form a flashing component and serve to control water and air intrusion. Prior to this invention, a separate pre-molded termination accessory was required to effectively seal corner areas around window and door rough openings. Additionally, the invention provides for full perimeter flashing and supplemental sealing at selected joint locations prior to installation of a closure member in the opening to prevent water and air intrusion around windows, doors and other building openings. Optionally, the lower half of a rough window opening may be flashed utilizing only four of the unique pre-folded flashing components.

The multi-unit termination accessory unit is thermo-formed in multiples of four with clearly delineated cutting lines for separating the multi-unit flashing member into four identical termination accessory units for use in corners of frame construction rough openings. This multi-unit forming permits multiple units to be formed in a single molding, thus reducing the time and cost per unit. Additionally, the individual termination accessory units are provided with a feature that permits their use with either full depth or partial depth windows thus increasing their versatility and acceptance by the construction industry.

    摘要: The invention relates to an improved multi-component flashing system for controlling water and air that intrudes at windows, doors, louvers and other wall penetrations. It accomplishes this through the use of several known commercially available products which are applied to the areas to be protected in a unique manner thus saving time and providing a heretofore unknown measure of protection. The first product is an elastomeric adhesive sealant which readily bonds to most building materials as well as the components of this system. The second product is a clay coated polyethylene film which can be folded, cut and shaped to fit various opening conditions. A third, optional component, is a uniquely designed preformed flexible termination accessory which also readily bonds to the clay coated film material through the use of the elastomeric adhesive sealant. The clay coated film material is readily available in roll form and can readily be hand cut to the dimensions of the particular job. In some instances, the flashing will be completed through the use of the coated polyethylene sheet flashing in combination with the elastomeric rubber adhesive sealant. Optionally, termination accessories may be used in combination with the coated polyethylene sheet flashing material, and the elastomeric adhesive sealant. The termination accessory has been specially designed to allow the same unit to be used in opposite corners of an area to be protected, thus reducing the types of units required on a single job by fifty percent.

    摘要: An integrated moisture/air barrier system that serves to mitigate the penetration of water and air around or through various types of exterior wall building sheathing products such as plywood, OSB, gypsum board, cement board, rigid foam boards and foil-faced composition products. The moisture/air barrier surface is preferably installed as a step in the manufacturing process for certain types of sheathing such as wood or gypsum-based products. However, it may also be installed in-situ in instances where the pre-coated units are not readily available or the factory surface needs to be supplemented at joints or terminations. The material used in forming the moisture barrier is urethane or urethane/silicone that is sprayed, squeegeed, applied by brush or roller and includes additives to aid the coating's workability and retard the growth of mold/fungi. The urethane and/or urethane/silicone coating is readily compatible with various known sheet flashing materials and common construction materials and readily bonds thereto.

    摘要: The disclosure relates to building construction flashing materials that are presented in both liquid and solid form and is useful in new building construction as well as retrofit procedures. The liquid form is comprised of a silicone base which has been reformulated to improve its flowability and self-leveling qualities allowing it to be applied by brush, pump or spray apparatus. It can be used alone or it can serve as a complementary effective moisture barrier when used with the solid form of the elastomeric flashing materials. The solid form of the elastomeric flashing materials can be extruded sheet material, formed specialty accessories, and/or a readily formable metallic substrate material which has been completely coated with the reformulated liquid silicone, resulting in a highly bendable, formable and shape retaining flashing component. Both the liquid and solid forms serve as an effective moisture guard which can be used individually or together to protect a wide range of building constructions and keep building interiors dry.

    摘要: There is disclosed a furring strip system wherein furring strips serve to provide a space to promote drainage and drying between the exterior siding or cladding and the underlying construction. These furring strips may be pre-attached to at least one side of a water resistive barrier (WRB—sometimes referred to as “Housewrap”) Additionally, it has been found that the use of closed cell polyethylene foam furring strips significantly reduces the amount of water penetration and leakage that occurs along the fasteners through the furring strips and the WRB onto the unprotected sheathing therebeneath, i.e. the closed cell foam furring strips provide a “gasketing effect”, and “self-sealing” as the fastener, whether it be a staple or nail, penetrates the closed cell polyethylene foam furring strip. The usefulness of the invention is the same regardless of whether the furring strips are pre-attached to the WRB or are added before or after the WRB has been applied to the building structure. It has been found that once the closed cell furring strips have been installed, all subsequent wall components should be attached with fasteners that penetrate the closed cell polyethylene furring strips and receive the gasketing effect thereby.

    摘要: The disclosure relates to a baseball pitcher training device for training a pitcher in controlling his lower and upper body portions during the pitch preparation phase as well as the delivery and follow-through phase. The device comprises a portable balance beam and a simulated pitching “rubber” mounted thereon from which the pitcher initiates his pre-pitch movements. The balance beam provides a limited width foot landing area after pitch delivery to limit lower and upper body movement and ensure alignment with the plate to improve pitch accuracy. This embodiment is used primarily for pitch delivery from the stretch position. A second embodiment includes an enlarged mound platform area which is removably placed over the end of the balance beam/rubber area of the first embodiment to provide a more stable pitching area and is used for delivery from the full wind-up position. Both embodiments are lightweight and portable, useable indoors or on a practice field, and have been successfully used by either left or right-handed pitchers.
