摘要： A data streaming apparatus broadcasts data, encoded by a layered encoding algorithm, each layer of encoded data frames being conveyed within separate respective streams of data packets of a predetermined packet structure. A packet numbering facility assigns to each data packet a data sequence number indicating the correct order for subsequent decoding of encoded data conveyed by that packet. Corresponding client apparatus receives data packets having such data sequence numbers assigned to them, including a packet ordering facility to place out-of-sequence packets into the correct order for output to a decoder.

摘要： An electrical connection system includes a first electrical connector, a second electrical connector and a locking device. The first electrical connector has a first housing with one or more locking indents. The second electrical connector has a second housing with one or more slots. Each of the slots in the second housing is in alignment with one of the locking indents in the first housing when the second electrical connector is coupled to the first electrical connector. The locking device has one or more arms and each of the arms has one or more projections. Each of the projections extends into one of the locking indents in the first housing through one of the slots in the second housing when the locking device is seated over at least a portion of the second housing to lock the first electrical connector to the second electrical connector.

摘要： A method for monitoring the performance of a test apparatus (1) for testing a batch of integrated circuits. The apparatus 1 comprises a test site 2 in which the integrated circuits are sequentially tested, and a microprocessor (4) for carrying out the appropriate tests on the integrated circuits. A first ROM (5) stores a computer programme for controlling the operation of the microprocessor (4) for carrying out the tests, and a first RAM (10) stores a computer programme for controlling the operation of the microprocessor (4) for monitoring the performance of the test apparatus (1). In particular, the computer programme stored in the first RAM (10) operates the microprocessor (4) for computing the test time period for each integrated circuit tested, and also for computing the intervening time periods between each integrated circuit tested. The intervening time periods between the respective test time periods are classified as either first or second category delays or index time periods. An index time is the normal time required between tests. A first category time delay is one which exceeds thirty seconds, while a second category time delay is one which lies between four seconds and thirty seconds. The duration of the first and second category time delays are stored in a second RAM (18), and cross-referenced with the times at which the respective first and second category time delays terminated. This permits analysis of the time delays by category and time of occurrence for facilitating subsequent investigation and corrective action.

摘要： A panel heater for animals of generally rectangular slab-like shape. The panel heater has sloping sides to accommodate animals and comprises basically a shell into which a fire retardant material is poured around electrical resistance wire. Anchorage is provided to ensure that there is adequate keying between the fire retardant material and the shell to prevent degradation during use. Various support devices are provided for the heating element which is formed from an electrical resistance wire. A two-stage pouring of the fire retardant material is used to prevent the possibility of accidents by keeping the electrical resistance wire away from the outer surface.
