摘要： An abrasive article comprises a porous abrasive member, a nonwoven filter medium, and a porous attachment fabric. A plurality of openings in the porous abrasive member cooperates with the nonwoven filter medium to allow the flow of particles from an outer abrasive surface of the porous abrasive member to the porous attachment fabric. Methods of making and using the abrasive articles are included.

摘要： Surface treating articles having varying degree of smear-resistance and their methods of manufacture are presented. One preferred article is characterized by an organic matrix substantially engulfed by a novel, tough, adherent elastomeric resinous binder system comprising a reaction product of either selected from(1) a polyurethane prepolymer with an amine curative,(2) a polyurethane prepolymer emulsion with an epoxy-functional material and an amine functional material, and(3) a polyurethane polymer emulsion with an epoxy-functional material and an amine-functional material in an aqueous system.

摘要： Article suitable for floor mats comprising a backing, a foraminous element bonded thereto, said element characterized by having a multiplicity of openings therein, and bristles bonded to the backing, said bristles having a length such that they will protrude through said openings when the mat is trod upon by pedestrians, thereby allowing contact between the bristles and the shoes on feet of the pedestrians. The mat is useful in removing soil and moisture from the shoes and feet of pedestrians.

摘要： Conformable surface finishing articles and a method for the manufacture of such articles are provided. The articles comprise a nonwoven three dimensional lofty web of fibers, a stretch resistant porous reinforcing fabric having first and second major surfaces with the first major surface disposed along a major surface of the web, and a layer comprising a polymer coated over and coextensive with the second major surface of the reinforcing fabric and having a flexible low friction exposed surface and portions extending through the reinforcing fabric encapsulating fibers along the major surface of the web. The method comprises positioning a stretch resistant porous reinforcing fabric adjacent a major surface of a nonwoven three dimensional lofty web of fibers, applying a coatable composition so that a portion of the composition extends through the fabric to contact and encapsulate fibers along the major surface of the web while also forming a substantially smooth exposed surface coated over and coextensive with the fabric, and hardening the composition.
