    摘要: A cleaning device in an electrostatic copying apparatus, for removing residual toner particles from the surface of a photosensitive member adapted to move through an endless conveying passage, includes a blade holding mechanism mounted pivotally around an axis extending substantially parallel to the surface of the photosensitive member and substantially perpendicular to the moving direction of the photosensitive member, and a cleaning blade mounted on the blade holding mechanism. The cleaning device further includes a first spring elastically biasing the blade holding mechanism to a non-operating position in which the cleaning blade is away from the surface of the photosensitive member and an operating mechanism selectively positioning the blade holding mechanism against the elastic biasing action of the first spring to an operating position in which the cleaning blade is pressed against the surface of the photosensitive member. The operating mechanism includes a clutch with an input drivingly connected to the photosensitive member drive system, a cam, a cam follower, and a power transmission arrangement for transmitting power from the cam to position the blade holding mechanism so that the cleaning blade is pressed against the surface of the photosensitive member. The power transmission arrangement includes a first power transmission member, having an input terminal on which the cam acts, and a second power transmission member, having an output terminal acting on the blade holding mechanism.

    摘要: An electrostatic copying apparatus including a support frame having a front support wall and a rear support frame. The support frame is mounted on a housing slidably in the front and rear direction between an operating position within the housing and a pull-out position outside of the housing. A rotating drum and a developing device are mounted on the support frame. Each of the rear surface of the front support wall and the front surface of the rear support wall has a semicircular receiving portion with an open top, and each end of the rotating drum has a shaft bearing member with a circular peripheral surface. By inserting each bearing member into the associated receiving portion, the drum is rotatably mounted. The developing device has a front wall and a rear wall, with a projecting portion formed at the end of each. An abutting lower edge is defined on each projecting portion, and an abutting front edge is defined on each of the front wall and the rear wall, below the projecting portion. The developing device is mounted between the front support wall and the rear support wall with each abutting lower edge abutting against the upper surface of the associated bearing member when that associated bearing member is inserted into its associated receiving portion and with each abutting front edge abutting against the side surface of the associated receiving portion.

    摘要: An optical device in a variable magnification electrostatic copying apparatus includes a first reflecting mirror assembly mounted for reciprocal movement, a second reflecting mirror assembly mounted for reciprocal movement substantially parallel to the reciprocating direction of the first reflecting mirror assembly, and a speed-reduction interlocking mechanism for moving the second reflecting mirror assembly at a speed equal to one-half of the moving speed of the first reflecting mirror assembly, upon movement of the first reflecting mirror assembly. The optical device further includes a magnification setting mechanism for changing the relative position of the second reflecting mirror assembly with respect to the first reflecting mirror assembly according to a desired copying magnification. The magnification setting mechanism comprises a setting cam having a plurality of acting portions corresponding to a plurality of magnification values and a setting member adapted to be held by the setting cam at any one of a plurality of setting positions corresponding to the plurality of magnification values. The changing of the position of the setting member causes a change in the relative position of the second reflecting mirror assembly with respect to the first reflecting mirror assembly.

The apparatus is reduced in size and a protrusion length L of the lift plate (33) is enlarged. The change in inclination angle of the lift plate (33) is reduced and a paper-sheet supply characteristic, even when the amount of paper sheets placed on the manual supply tray (10b) changes, is stabilized.

The manual feed tray can assume a first posture that is closed relative to the housing, and a second posture that is open relative to the housing. A link couples the housing with the manual feed tray and pivots with a pivoting movement of the manual feed tray to hold the second posture of the manual feed tray. A posture changing mechanism permits the manual feed tray to pivot farther in an opening direction from the second posture when a load acts on a sheet mounting surface and causes the manual feed tray to assume a third posture while being held by the link. A posture holding mechanism holds the third posture of the manual feed tray.

    摘要: A sheet conveying device for in an image forming apparatus includes a first guide. A second guide faces the first guide to define a sheet conveyance passage therebetween. A driving shaft is mounted on the first guide and carries driving rollers. A supporting shaft extends substantially orthogonal to a sheet conveying direction. Driven rollers are at opposite ends of the supporting shaft and correspond to the driving rollers. A holder holds the supporting shaft so that the supporting shaft can move towards the driving shaft. Urging members are at opposite sides of an axially center of the supporting shaft for pushing the driven rollers against the driving rollers. The holder is attached to the second guide to swing at a pivotal axis extending in the sheet conveying direction, the pivotal axis is on a plane orthogonally passing the supporting shaft at a center thereof.
