摘要： Varactors are provided which have a high tunability and/or a high quality factor associated therewith as well as methods for fabricating the same. One type of varactor disclosed is a quasi hyper-abrupt base-collector junction varactor which includes a substrate having a collector region of a first conductivity type atop a subcollector region, the collector region having a plurality of isolation regions present therein; reach-through implant regions located between at least a pair of the isolation regions; a SiGe layer atop a portion of the substrate not containing a reach-through implant region, the SiGe layer having an extrinsic base region of a second conductivity type which is different from the first conductivity type; and an antimony implant region located between the extrinsic base region and the subcollector region. Another type of varactor disclosed is an MOS varactor which includes at least a poly gate region and a well region wherein the poly gate region and the well region have opposite polarities.

The dampening system includes a housing, a beam, a first towline connector, a second towline connector, a spring and a plurality of shock absorbers. The housing is attached to the towboat. The beam is slidably coupled within the housing. The spring resiliently couples the beam to the housing. Each shock absorber is connected to the housing and mechanically coupled to the beam. The towline connector is mechanically coupled to the beam. The towline is connected to the towline connector.

摘要： A lighting system includes a light source, a floor plate with holes and optical fibers one of which is mechanically and optically coupled to one of the holes. The light source includes an enclosure coupled, a light system fixedly coupled to the enclosure, a cylinder, which is hollow and transparent and which has an outer sidewall, concentrically aligned with the light system and rotatably coupled to the enclosure, a plurality of bands of tape, which are transparent, concentrically aligned with the light system and serially disposed on the outer sidewall of the cylinder and a drive system fixedly coupled to the enclosure and mechanically coupled to the cylinder in order to rotate it. The light system generates an output of light. The output of light passes through the outer sidewall. Each optical fiber is optically coupled to the light source at a second end thereof. Either opaque markings or transparent markings, each of which is of a color which is selected from a group of colors, are distributed on the bands of tape.

摘要： An integral mouth-piece has a flexible nipple portion and a stop ring flange portion and is used in a combined electronic clinical thermometer and pacifier which easily and safely takes the temperature of either an infant or a small child. The combined electronic clinical thermometer and pacifier includes a housing, a temperature sensitive element, a circuit board, a temperature oscillating circuit, a body temperature measuring circuit and a digital display device. The housing has a front face and is mechanically coupled to the stop ring flange portion. The temperature sensitive element has a transducer and a pair of wire leads. The transducer is disposed in the flexible nipple portion of the integral mouth-piece. When the flexible nipple portion is inserted into the mouth the transducer detects a body temperature. The circuit board is disposed within the housing. The temperature oscillating circuit is electrically coupled to the pair of wire leads of the temperature sensitive element and is disposed on the circuit board. The body temperature measuring circuit is electrically coupled to the temperature oscillating circuit and is disposed on the circuit board. The digital display device is electrically coupled to the body temperature measuring circuit and is disposed on the circuit board. The flexible nipple portion of the integral mouth-piece has an outer sidewall and an inner sidewall with a recessed area in order to allow the transducer, which is disposed adjacent to said recessed area, to be as close to the outer sidewall as possible.

摘要： This invention is a revolving examination table apparatus to be used by, for example, optometrists during eye examination to place a desired instrument between the patient and the doctor. More particularly, the table apparatus includes (1) a main, circular support base assembly; (2) a revolving table top assembly rotatably mounted on the support base assembly; and (3) an electrical control and drive assembly operable to control rotation of the revolving table top assembly. A central portion of the support base assembly and the revolving table top assembly is cut out to receive a chair and person (optometrist) therein while the patient sits opposite therefrom with the table apparatus therebetween. The electrical control and drive assembly operates to (1) rotate the table top assembly to one of seven stations and stop automatically; (2) supply electrical power to each station when in the usage position to an electrical receptacle to power an instrument at that station; (3) control direction of table top assembly rotation; (4) control speed of subject rotation; and (5) provide an override switch to by-pass a station, if so desired.

摘要： A combined electronic clinical thermometer and pacifier includes a housing, an integral mouth-piece, a temperature sensitive element which has a transducer and a pair of wire leads, a circuit board which is disposed within the housing, a temperature oscillating circuit, a body temperature measuring circuit and a digital display device. The integral mouth-piece has a stop ring flange portion and a flexible nipple portion in which the transducer is disposed so that the combined electronic clinical thermometer and pacifier can easily and safely take the temperature of either an infant or a small child. The housing has a front face and is mechanically coupled to the stop ring flange portion. When the flexible nipple portion is inserted into the mouth the transducer detects a body temperature. The temperature oscillating circuit is electrically coupled to the pair of wire leads of the temperature sensitive element and is disposed on the circuit board. The body temperature measuring circuit is electrically coupled to the temperature oscillating circuit and is disposed on the circuit board. The digital display device is electrically coupled to the body temperature measuring circuit and is disposed on the circuit board. The temperature sensitive element has a sensing button. The flexible nipple portion of the integral mouth-piece has an outer sidewall and an inner sidewall with an opening in order to allow the sensing button, which is disposed in the opening, to be adjacent and contiguous to the outer sidewall.
