Abstract:
A process of bonding a metal substrate to a non-halogenated polymer, especially of bonding a polyolefin overcoat to a metallic tube or pipe, using an epoxy-based adhesive which comprises at least one salt of a metal ion M in an oxidation state of n which has a standard reduction potential E0M more positive than the standard reduction potential of the surface of the metal substrate; an object comprising a metal substrate and a non-halogenated polymer bonded together by this process; a tube or pipe made of a metal substrate onto which a layer of a non-halogenated polymer is bonded by a cured epoxy-based adhesive.
Abstract:
The present invention relates to cationically curable compositions for curing on a surface comprising a cationically curable component, an accelerator species comprising at least one vinyl ether functional group and an initiator component capable of initiating cure of the cationically curable component. The initiator comprises at least one metal salt, which is chosen so that it is reduced at the surface, and where the standard reduction potential of the initiator component is greater than the standard reduction potential of the surface, and where when the composition is placed in contact with the surface, the metal salt of the initiator component of the composition is reduced at the surface, thereby initiating cure of the cationically curable component of the composition. The accelerator species comprising at least one vinyl ether functional group greatly enhances the rate of cure. No catalytic component is required in the composition for efficient cure.
Abstract:
A photovoltaic framed module array apparatus for mounting a first framed photovoltaic (PV) module and a second framed PV module is provided. The photovoltaic framed module array apparatus comprises a first rail. The first rail includes an insert slot for accommodating an insert edge of the first framed PV module, and a capture slot for accommodating a capture edge of the second framed PV module. The capture slot is positioned substantively parallel to the insert slot.
Abstract:
A drum assembly for use with a coupling arrangement includes an outer member and an inner member that is mountable on the outer member. The outer member includes first and second annular portions and an intermediate portion extending between the annular portions. The first annular portion has a first mating surface that defines a first opening having a first diameter, the second annular portion defines a second opening having a second diameter that is smaller than the first diameter, and the intermediate portion defines a shoulder. The inner member includes a generally radially extending portion having a generally axially facing surface and a second mating surface that is engageable with the first mating surface to interlock the inner and outer members together. When the inner member is mounted on the outer member, the radially extending portion extends into the first opening, and the generally axially facing surface engages the shoulder.
Abstract:
The present invention relates to cationically and radically curable coating compositions for coating a surface. The coating compositions consist essentially of a radically or cationically curable monomer, and a metal salt. The metal salt is chosen so that it is reduced at the surface to be coated, and where the standard reduction potential of the metal salt is greater than the standard reduction potential of the surface, and where when the composition is placed in contact with the surface, the metal salt of the composition is reduced at the surface, thereby initiating cure of the curable component in the compositions. Redox mediated cure of the coating compositions results in a coating or film on the surface. The invention also provides for functionalization of surfaces. Cross-linking of the coating occurs directly on the surface.

Abstract:
A method for provisioning audiovisual works to a client includes maintaining categorization information specifying, for each of multiple audiovisual works, one or more of multiple categories. One or more of the categories are associated with each of multiple delivery slots in response to input from a client. For each of the delivery slots, a first audiovisual work from one of the categories associated with the respective delivery slot is provisioned for delivery to a location associated with the client.
Abstract:
A coupling assembly includes a housing disposed about an axis and having a retainer. The assembly further includes a coupling pack disposed about the axis, and an actuator lever having an end engaged with the retainer of the housing such that the actuator lever is pivotable with respect to the housing for applying an axial force on the coupling pack. Moreover, the retainer inhibits axial movement of the end of the actuator lever.
Abstract:
This invention concerns itself with improvements to cubical quad antennas. The chief disadvantage to cubical quad antennas is their relative lack of strength and vulnerability to high winds and icing conditions. The present invention provides for a spreader reinforced crossarm system that adds appreciably to the strength of these antennas. There is also the added advantage that additional elements can be added and supported by the aforementioned guy line support system, thus alleviating the necessity for a crossarm assembly for each element. The one additional advantage of the invention is that elements can be supported by the ends of the spreaders themselves, thus affording a greater distance between elements than would be possible with just the boom and no spreaders with the effect of increasing the gain of the antenna array.
Abstract:
A mounting system is presented. An embodiment of a mounting system that includes a support platform configured to fasten the mounting system to a mounting surface. The mounting system further includes a stud operatively coupled to the support platform and disposed substantially perpendicular to the support platform. In addition, the mounting system includes an elevating unit operatively coupled to the stud, wherein the elevating unit includes a fastener operatively coupled to one end of the stud and configured to vary a height of the mounting system, and a rail-clip coupled to the fastener, wherein a rotational motion of the rail-clip is independent of a rotational motion of the fastener. Furthermore, the mounting system includes a rail operatively coupled to the rail-clip and configured to support at least one module.
