A system and process that selectively provides lifting assistance during the concentric phase and possibly during the eccentric phase during lifting of weights for rehabilitation or training, the system being programmable to provide a variety of exercise programs dedicated to a particular user, and the system monitoring the progress of the user during the exercise to selectively respond to certain trigger conditions.
Abstract:
This invention provides a method for treating or preventing malaria in a subject. The method includes administering to the subject an effective amount of a substituted tetracycline compound, such that malaria is treated or prevented. In one aspect, the invention relates to pharmaceutical compositions which include an effective amount of a tetracycline compound to treat malaria in a subject and a pharmaceutically acceptable carrier. The substituted tetracycline compounds of the invention can be used to in combination with one or more anti-malarial compounds or can be used to treat or prevent malaria which is resistant to one or more other anti-malarial compounds.
Abstract:
The present invention relates, at least in part, to the use of substituted tetracycline compounds for regulation of expression of nucleic acids operably linked to a tetracycline operator system. The invention pertains to compounds used in a regulatory system which utilizes components of the Tet repressor/operator/inducer system of prokaryotes to regulate gene expression in cells. Use of certain substituted tetracycline compounds, as featured in the methods of the invention, result in improved dose-response results when compared to those for e.g., tetracycline and doxycycline. Certain methods of the invention thus allow for enhanced control of the Tet repressor/operator/inducer system in regulating gene expression in cells.

The present invention relates to a method of making an industrial fabric comprising the following steps: -applying a radiation-curable powder onto the surface of a fabric, melting the powder such that the powder forms a layer on the fabric surface and directing radiation at said surface layer so as to cure the constituent material of said coating layer.

Disclosed in this specification is a decal assembly comprising a decal support, a releasable covercoat, a heat activatable layer, and an ink layer. The ink layer forms a digital image. The heat activatable layer has a high adhesion to a ceramic substrate at high temperatures and a low adhesion to the substrate at lower temperatures. Thus the adhesive properties of the decal are activated by heat. The resulting image has excellent adhesion to the substrate and resists the effects of washing.

A method is disclosed for applying thermal spray particles to a composite, wherein the method includes the steps of providing a composite that includes a thermally sensitive surface, and applying the thermal spray particles at a temperature that is high enough to cause a temperature-dependent change in the thermally sensitive surface of the composite. The temperature-dependent change improves adhesion between the thermal spay particles and the composite.

Substituted benzimidazole compounds useful as anti-infectives that decrease resistance, virulence, or growth of microbes are provided. Methods of using substituted benzimidazole compounds, in, e.g., reducing virulence and infectivity, inhibiting biofilms and treating bacterial infections are also provided.
