摘要: A bone-conductive audio system includes at least one head-worn hearing enhancement apparatus. The head-worn hearing enhancement apparatus comprises a microphone in front of the outer ear generally picking up sound in a forward outward direction and at least one microphone behind the outer ear picking up sound in a more rearward outward direction. First and second amplified vibration transducers interact with the at least one microphone in front of the outer ear and the at least one microphone behind the outer ear. The first and second amplified vibration transducers are drawn toward audio conductive bones. Placement of the at least one microphone in front of the outer ear and the at least one microphone behind the outer ear feeds the naturally captured discrete audio signals, front and rear, captured in a physical location on the head to the first and second amplified vibration transducers to create organically recognizable audio spatiality.

摘要: A computer chip including a data transfer network which comprises a plurality of communications links for transmitting data, a plurality of communication nodes, and a plurality of modules. Each of the communication nodes is directly connected to two or more other communication nodes through respective ones of the communications links. Each communication node is operable to communicate data over the respective one of the communications links. Each module is coupled to at least one of the communication nodes, and the modules are operable to communicate with each other through the communication nodes. The communication nodes are operable to create dynamic routes for the data transferred between any two or more of the plurality of modules over the respective ones of the communications links. The communication nodes form the dynamic routes based on statistical data on previous transmissions between the modules. Each communication node may include respective configuration logic for dynamically configuring the dynamic routes, and each configuration logic may include a memory for storing the statistical data on previous transmissions that passed through the respective communications node. The data transfer network may also comprise a routing module for controlling the dynamic routes based on statistical data. The routing module couples to each communication node and monitors the configuration logic. When present and functioning, the routing module adapts the dynamic routes based on an analysis of the statistical data. The statistical data includes one or more of the following for each respective transmission: priority, source module, destination module, number of data units, elapsed transfer time or minimum required transfer time, and total number of transmissions which pass through a given communications node.

摘要: An apparatus and method for controlling the opening of a solenoid actuated valve in a sealant dispensing gun are disclosed. A proximity sensor is provided adjacent a portion of the needle valve stem in order to sense when the needle valve has reached its open position. A dispense timer is initiated when the proximity sensor indicates that the needle valve has reached its open position. In this manner, the needle valve may be maintained in its open position for the desired dispense time only without regard to the response time of the solenoid device. Also disclosed is an apparatus and method for adjusting the valve open limit of a sealant dispensing device which incorporates a solenoid or motor actuated valve open limit device. A flow sensor is located in-line with the sealant supply path of a dispensing gun in order to monitor the dispense weight during each valve open cycle. A moving average of the dispense rates may then be calculated and compared to predetermined limits. If the limits are exceeded, the processor the processor automatically adjusts the solenoid or motor actuated valve open limit device in the proper direction in order to bring the dispense rate back into the proper dispense rate range.

摘要: A method of providing supercontinuum illumination in applications involving the excitation of fluorescence, comprising generating, at an optical pump laser, optical pump pulses at a pump pulse repetition rate; selectively controlling with an optical modulator the launch of pump pulses into a nonlinear optical element comprising an optical fiber at a variable, lower repetition rate to thereby selectively control the repetition rate of supercontinuum pulses generated within the optical fiber; and illuminating a sample with supercontinuum pulses to excite fluorescence. The supercontinuum pulses can be wavelength filtered such that the fluorescence is excited with wave length filtered supercontinuum pulses.
