Abstract: Systems and methods include a radiation source configured to generate a first waveform, a first separator configured to separate the first waveform into linearly polarized second and third waveforms, a first modulator configured to modulate at least one of a phase and a polarization of the second waveform to generate a fourth waveform, a second modulator configured to modulate at least one of a phase and a polarization of the third waveform to generate a fifth waveform, a first combiner configured to combine the fourth and fifth waveforms to generate a sixth waveform, an amplifier configured to amplify the sixth waveform to generate a seventh waveform, a second separator configured to separate the seventh waveform into a plurality of amplified waveforms, and beam directing optics configured to direct the plurality of amplified waveforms to form an output waveform at a target location.

Abstract: A system may include a laser source configured to generate a first laser light beam, an atom trap, and a multi-channel acousto-optic modulator (AOM). The multi-channel AOM may include a beamsplitter to split the first laser light beam into a plurality of second laser light beams for the atom trap, a common acousto-optic medium configured to receive the plurality of second laser light beams, and a respective plurality of electrodes coupled to the common acousto-optic medium for each of the second laser light beams. The system may also include a plurality of radio frequency (RF) drivers each configured to generate respective RF drive signals for each of the plurality of electrodes.

Abstract: A method of providing optical supercontinuum pulses can comprise generating optical pump pulses with an optical pump laser, the optical pump pulses having a pump pulse repetition rate; launching optical pump pulses into a nonlinear optical element comprising an optical fiber; generating optical supercontinuum pulses from the optical pump pules via spectral broadening within the optical fiber; selectively providing a plurality of different repetition rates for the optical pump pulses so as to generate optical supercontinuum pulses having different repetition rates; and providing nominally identical spectral broadening of the optical supercontinuum pules having the different repetition rates.

Abstract: A laser light-source apparatus includes a control unit configured to perform control in such a manner that a seed light source is driven in a pulse oscillation mode of oscillating pulse light based on gain switching in an output permitted state where output of pulse light from the apparatus is permitted, and is driven in a continuous oscillation mode of oscillating continuous light in an output stopped state in which the output of the pulse light from the apparatus is stopped, with power of excitation light for a solid state amplifier maintained, and adjusts power of laser light input to the solid state amplifier from the seed light source in the continuous oscillation mode in such a manner that the solid state amplifier outputs light with substantially same average power in the output stopped state and in the output permitted state.
