Abstract:
Communication system management apparatus, methods, and interfaces are disclosed. A group of objects that are associated with different types of communication system components in a representation of a communication system are configured in a group. A further representation of the objects of the group is provided, and includes an indication of component operational status for one or more communication system components respectively associated with one or more of the objects of the group. The further representation of the objects of the group may also or instead provide access to the objects of the group, so that information associated with the objects may be more easily displayed, for example. The communication system representation and the group representation are provided in a Graphical User Interface (GUI) in some embodiments.
Abstract:
A diagnostic system that provides a service technician with service information during servicing of an image processing apparatus includes at least one counter that is incremented during operation of the image processing apparatus, a pressure detecting unit that detects a pressure at a point in an air flow path on the condition that the at least one counter is reset to zero after initial servicing of the image processing apparatus, a determining unit that determines whether a difference between the detected pressure and a fault threshold pressure is less than a predetermined margin, and a display unit that displays a fault code indicating additional servicing of the image processing apparatus is recommended on the condition that the determining unit determines that the difference between the detected pressure and the predetermined threshold pressure is less than the predetermined margin.
Abstract:
An improved detack corotron reduces the likelihood of a paper jam arising from a curled paper edge getting caught in the corotron. The detack corotron includes an electrically conductive coronode having a plurality of field emitters, each field emitter having a terminating end, the terminating ends of the field emitters being spatially separated from one another, and a paper edge guide having a plurality of generally planar members, the generally planar members being perpendicular to the conductive coronode and the generally planar members having a height that extends above the terminating ends of the field emitters.
Abstract:
Disclosed is a transportable apparatus that maintains a large volume of a cold solution at a preset low temperature and rapidly delivers it to an irresuscitable patient's thoracic aorta at a preset and controlled flow rate, while monitoring pressure and eliminating the introduction of air embolisms into the patient, for the purpose of inducing profound hypothermia and suspended animation until proper treatment of the patient is available. The induction of suspended animation is intended for preservation of viability of the brain, heart, and organs for subsequent repair and resuscitation or for organ harvesting. The procedure may be performed by emergency personnel on the scene of an accident and/or while the patient is being transported in an emergency vehicle, or while in a hospital.
Abstract:
A network management and administration system provisioning data links in an optical networking environment is provided. The network management and administration system makes use of connectivity information in establishing and monitoring data links. The connectivity information includes data link termination specifications. Data link termination specifications include port and channel specifications. Each port may have a channelized or an unchannelized configuration. A virtual channel having a data transport capacity substantially equal to that of a corresponding unchannelized port is defined therefor. The advantages include a standardized, concise and comprehensive provisioning and presentation of data links.
Abstract:
The present invention provides for a method for producing a shaped tampon. The method includes the following steps: providing a mold having an inner surface, an outer surface, a first end, a second end, and an opening located in said second end; providing a tampon pledget; transferring said tampon pledget through said opening into said second end of said mold using a transfer member resulting in a tampon mold; self-sustaining said shaped tampon wherein said shaped tampon has an undercut; and removing said shaped tampon from said tampon mold.
Abstract:
Methods and systems for generating a plasma using an external plasma system are described. The plasma system may include an energy coupling device (e.g., an electromagnetic coil or capacitor) that is submersed within a liquid coolant and powered by an RF source. In some embodiments, a C-shaped magnetic core may be submersed within the liquid coolant and one or more plasma tubes may be arranged within an opening of the C-shaped magnetic core between the ends of the C-shaped magnetic core. To generate a plasma in a first tube of the one or more plasma tubes, a gas may be inserted into the first tube while the RF source drives a coil surrounding a portion of the C-shaped magnetic core to couple electromagnetic energy into the gas within the first tube.
Abstract:
An audio recording software program adapted to capture spontaneous extemporaneous performance after group recording. The software permits a user to suspend recording of some tracks while continuing recording of at least one track, to capture extemporaneous performances of musical phrases, especially vocal performances, which are often preferred in the extemporaneous utterance which are difficult to recapture.
Abstract:
A method for monitoring a point-to-multipoint unidirectional multicast connection via exchange of OAM messages is presented. The method includes retrieving the connection record of the multicast connection from a network management system repository and determining common parent path points between the root and a selected path branch endpoint. In turning on content conveyance monitoring for a termination other than the root, the termination specific uncommon portion of the transport path is segmented if necessary, OAM compliant managed path segments are identified, and OAM configuration commands to turn on OAM functionality are issued only to uncommon path segment endpoints. In turning off content conveyance monitoring for a termination other than the root, a single OAM configuration command to turn off OAM functionality is issued only for the path branch endpoint, or if the uncommon portion of the transport path associated with the no longer participating termination is segmented, OAM configuration commands to turn off OAM functionality are issued only to uncommon path segment endpoints. Advantages are derived from a centralized multicast connection that is configurable in real-time, and reduced signaling overhead as OAM configuration commands are sent only to relevant uncommon managed path segment endpoints as needed.
