    Abstract: An LCD device in an LCD projector includes a TFT substrate, a counter substrate, an LC layer sandwiched between the TFT substrate and the counter substrate, and a pair of compensation substrates attached onto the outer surfaces of the TFT substrate and the counter substrate far from the LC layer. The compensation substrate has a negative coefficient of thermal expansion (CTE) for compensating the retardation caused by a temperature rise of the TFT substrate and the counter substrate due to irradiation thereof by a light source.

    Abstract: The display device includes a display panel and a plurality of wiring boards placed along the periphery of the display panel. The display panel has panel-side connection wiring for electrically connecting first and second wiring boards adjacent to each other among the plurality of wiring boards. Each of the plurality of wiring boards has an insulating base, a board-side wiring group running on the insulating base, and at least one driving circuit element for driving the display panel.     Abstract: A piezoelectric transformer having a structure where an electrode on a side of a transformer element and a lead terminal made of a leaf spring on a side of a package are brought into pressural contact with each other by an elastic spring performance of the lead terminal. An angle of inclination is given to a terminal portion of the lead terminal in respect of a base portion, whereby the terminal portion of the lead terminal is opened in a direction of extending the base portion, when the base portion is bent, with a side wall of a case being a fulcrum for the bending, by receiving a static pressing force from a transformer element on the terminal portion. An angle of rotation caused at the terminal portion by bending the base portion is counteracted by this angle of inclination, by which the terminal portion and the electrode of the transformer element are always kept in parallel with each other.

    Abstract: The present invention provides a liquid crystal display (LCD) which is an active-matrix addressing LCD prepared by a drop filling and substrate assembling method, prevents an occurrence of a drop mark, and has superior residual image characteristics. The residual image characteristics are improved by adding an acidic compound (for instance, phenol derivative 412) into a liquid crystal composition to adjust a dielectric constant. The occurrence of the drop mark is prevented by adding a compound (for instance, alkoxy compound 413) which can form a hydrogen bond with the acidic compound into the liquid crystal composition so as to prevent the acidic compound from forming the hydrogen bond with water 409 when the LC composition has been dropped on a substrate. In a progressive mode, the content of the phenol compound is 0.00010 N or more, and the content of the alkoxy compound is 0.265 mol/L or less and is 10 equivalents or more with respect to the phenol compound. In an interlace mode, the content of the phenol compound is 0.00100 N or more, and the content of the alkoxy compound is 1.324 mol/L or less and is 150 equivalents or more with respect to the phenol compound.
