摘要: The invention provides a variable speed hydraulic pump designed to operate at a maximum horsepower throughout its pressure range by adjusting motor speed according to motor load parameters. In particular, the variable speed hydraulic pump includes a hydraulic pump unit coupled to a variable speed electric motor by a drive unit and to a hydraulic fluid tank for pressurizing and pumping hydraulic fluid when operated by the motor. A motor controller is electrically connected to the motor to supply drive signals to the motor based on electrical characteristics of the drive signals which are dependent on the load exerted on the motor. Suction from the load is provided by both the main pump and a bidirectional supercharging pump by reversing the direction of the motor and shifting a 4/3 valve to connect the main pump inlet to the load and its outlet to tank. In addition, the controller reduces the motor speed at the maximum rated pressure to just maintain the pressure, to reduce the amount of fluid pumped through the maximum pressure relief valve.

The pump assembly includes a stator assembly, a lower pump housing, an upper pump housing, a rotor assembly, and an isolation cup. The method includes coupling the stator assembly to the lower pump housing, overmolding an overmold material over the stator assembly and the lower pump housing, positioning the isolation cup over the overmold, and positioning the rotor assembly inside the isolation cup. The method further includes placing the upper pump housing over the rotor assembly and coupling the upper pump housing to the lower pump housing.

摘要: A resolver (20, 21) is provided with redundant excitation windings in which only a single excitation winding (E1) is energized externally. Cross coupling from the externally energized winding (E1) excites the other excitation winding (E2). A control circuit (27, 28) monitors the excitation of the redundant excitation winding (E2) and switches the excitation to the redundant excitation winding (E2) in the event of a failure of the externally winding (E1).

摘要: A brushless d.c. motor is integrated with a conveyor roller (14) by placing a plurality of stator coils (15) on a stationary shaft (18) and securing a rotor (10) with segments (12) of permanent magnetic material to the inside of the conveyor roller (14). In one embodiment the rotor (10) is directly secured to the roller while in a second embodiment, the rotor (10) is disposed inside of a cylindrical metal housing (40) that is press fit inside of the roller. Commutation is provided by an external motor controller (54) which is connected by conductors (37) through a passageway (36) in the shaft (18) to a circuit board (20), where sensors (23) are mounted to sense rotor position for purposes of commutation of the stator coils (15).

摘要: A method and apparatus for controlling the output function of a permanent magnet brushless DC motor (20), by sensing an input current to the motor (20), by computing an output torque generated by the motor (20) as a function of the input current to the motor (20), by computing an output pressure for a pump (22) in response to the output torque, by reading a set point pressure, and by comparing the set point pressure to the output pressure, and in response thereto controlling on-off operation of the motor (20). The apparatus includes a sensing circuit (28) and a microelectronic processor (30) for performing these functions.
