In a color cathode-ray tube having a glass envelope including a panel portion, neck portion and a funnel portion coupling the panel and neck portions to each other, an electron gun mounted within the neck portion for producing electron beams, a phosphor screen formed on an inner surface of a face plate of the panel portion and a shadow mask having a plurality of holes therein and disposed opposing the phosphor screen so that the electron beams pass through holes in the shadow mask to impinge on the phosphor screen, the holes in the shadow mask are arranged with a varying arrangement pitch which is monotonically non-decreasing from a central portion to two opposite peripheral portions of the shadow mask as viewed, in a horizontal direction in the color cathode-ray tube, at an arbitrary position on the shadow mask in a vertical direction in the color cathode-ray tube. The rate of increase of the varying arrangement pitch in the horizontal direction is substantially zero in first regions from the central portion to intervening portions between the central portion and the two opposite peripheral portions of the shadow mask, and has a gradient not smaller than zero in second regions from the intervening portions to the two opposite peripheral portions of the shadow mask.

A process for producing a composite laminate comprising a insert part and an injection-molded resin part by coating the insert part with a primer comprising a copolymer aqueous emulsion having a glass transition point of not higher than 20.degree. C. which is obtained by emulsion polymerization of a monomer mixture consisting mainly of (a) from 35 to 75% by weight of an alkyl acrylate having from 1 to 8 carbon atoms in the alkyl moiety thereof, (b) from 10 to 50% by weight of an alkyl methacrylate having from 1 to 4 carbon atoms in the alkyl moiety thereof, (c) up to 15% by weight of styrene and/or acrylonitrile, the sum of the (b) and (c) components ranging from 15 to 55% by weight, (d) up to 5% by weight of a vinyl monomer selected from the group consisting of an .alpha.,.beta.-unsaturated acid or an anhydride thereof, 2-hydroxyethyl (meth)acrylate, 2-hydroxypropyl (meth)acrylate, (meth)acrylamide, and methylol(meth)acrylamide, and (e) up to 30% by weight of other vinyl monomer(s), drying the primer, inserting the insert part into a cavity of an injection mold, injecting a molten resin into the cavity to thereby unite the insert part and the injected resin molded part into one body. The composite laminate is resistant to thermal shocks or electrical shocks.

A process for producing a carpet is disclosed, comprising laminating a backing material composition comprising 100 parts by weight, on a resin solid basis, of an aqueous emulsion of a resin having a glass transition point of not higher than 5.degree. C., from 120 to 400 parts by weight of hydraulic inorganic cement, and up to 600 parts by weight of a non-hydraulic inorganic filler on a carpeting surface base material and heating the laminate to harden and dry the backing material composition. A carpet in which a carpeting surface base material and a backing material (and a carpeting back base material, if used) are firmly and integrally bonded can easily be obtained. The carpet has excellent properties, such as flexibility (softness), dimensional stability (resistance to shrinkage), fit to a floor, and workability, in a good balance. Where a carpeting surface base material previously coated with a coating composition comprising a specific aqueous resin emulsion is used, a higher temperature can be applied in hardening and drying, which leads to increased productivity, and the resulting carpet has excellent pull strength of pile.
