摘要: A compacting granulator for continuous, compacting granulation comprises a substantially horizontal rotatable drum, through which an eccentric shaft extends, which carries compacting means which partly transfer substantial amounts of energy to the granulate possible for attainment of a high degree of compacting, partly hurl up the material under treatment, so that the material, while hurled up, is brought in intimate contact with a treatment liquid sprayed through the nozzle. A stationary scraper as well as nozzles with individual feed supply ensures great flexibility and a reliable operation.

摘要: In a drying or cooling chamber (1) having a mainly cylindrical upper section (2) joining an underlying mainly conical or frusto-conical lower section (3), an inlet (6) for processing gas is provided at the upper end of the cylindrical section (2) and an outlet (7) for the processing gas at the lower or upper end of the chamber. Deposition of products on the inner surfaces of the chamber is minimized by injection by nozzle means (8) of at least one jet of pressurized gas at a high flow velocity but a low flow rate compared to the flow velocity and the flow rate of the processing gas at a level of the cylindrical section (2) remote from the processing gas outlet (7) and at a point close to a circumferential wall (9) of the cylindrical section (2). The jet is injected with a main flow direction substantially tangential and horizontal in respect of the circumferential wall (9) to interact with the flow of the processing gas to increase the flow velocity thereof in a region extending along at least the circumferential wall (9) of the cylindrical section (2) between the injection level and the processing gas outlet.

摘要: An atomizer wheel for the atomization of slurries of highly abrasive materials which includes a hub secured to a rotating shaft, a wheel bottom connected to the hub, a cylindrical side wall connected with the wheel bottom and a cover plate to form a bowl-shaped feed supply chamber. The side wall includes a number of openings fitted with bushings to provide nozzles which eject droplets of a suspension or slurry provided to the bowl-shaped feed supply chamber. The inner end of each of the bushings extend inwardly from the side wall of the wheel and the inner end or at least a portion of the inner end of at least one of the bushings extends radially inwardly from the side wall a greater distance than the inwardly extending ends of other bushings.

摘要: A process for the preparation of paraformaldehyde in which concentrated formaldehyde solution is formed into powdery paraformaldehyde by spraying the solution into a spray cooling and drying chamber and contacting the sprayed solution with a stream of inert gas such as nitrogen or air having a temperature of about 30.degree.-40.degree. C. The particulate product, which may be slightly sticky and agglomerated, is transferred from the spray cooling tower to a multistage fluidized bed each stage of which is fluidized with air of temperature higher than that of the preceding stage. Inert gas used to fluidize the particles enters the first stage, which is preferably a vibratory fluidized bed, at a temperature in the range 45-70.degree. C. Particles in the first stage are simultaneously cured, dried, and concentrated to preferably about 90-91% formaldehyde concentration. The concentrated powder from the first stage is transferred to a second fluidized stage having the fluidized gas entering the bed at a temperature in the range 70-100.degree. C. The resultant product is further concentrated to a formaldehyde concentration of preferably about 95%. The final product is particulate in form, nonsticky, free-flowing, and has little or no dust.

摘要: SO.sub.2 is absorbed from hot flue gas by spray drying a Ca(OH).sub.2 -containing suspension in the flue gas. Fly ash is left in the flue gas which is to be treated in the spray absorption process, and the powder which is produced by the spray absorption process and which consequently contains the fly ash and partly reacted Ca(OH).sub.2 is partially recycled. Operation is controlled to obtain a temperature of the flue gas after the treatment which is 8.degree.-20.degree. C. above the saturation temperature of the flue gas at this stage. The process leads to optimum use of the Ca(OH).sub.2 used as absorbent and of the neutralization power inherent in the fly ash. Problems due to sedimentation of the absorbant before its atomization are avoided.

摘要: In a spray drying and agglomerating process carried out in a spray drying chamber (1) having a conical lower section (3), in which chamber the liquid to be spray dried is atomized into a downward central stream of drying gas and the spent drying gas is withdrawn from non-central locations (5, 11) in the upper part of the drying chamber together with entrained fine particles, m the fine particles are recycled to the drying chamber by pneumatic injection thereof from a location in the lower part of the drying chamber and in one or more directions forming an angle of 0.degree.-90.degree. to the upward center axis of the chamber. An apparatus suitable for carrying out the process has the capability of performing the separation and recycling of the fine particles as specified.

摘要: Substantially spherical solid particles of a substantially uniform particle size are prepared by dispersing a solution of a polymerizable substance in a first liquid by means of a suitble emulsifier to form droplets of the polymerizable substance of a substantially uniform particle size, which are thereafter poured into a second liquid with which the first liquid is immiscible and which contains a sufficient amount of a reactant to polymerize the polymerizable substance. After the polymerization the substantially spherical particles formed are recovered. In a preferred embodiment, an aqueous solution of an alkaline metal silicate, especially sodium silicate, is dispersed in a coparaffinate by means of a suitable emulsifier, and the emulsion is poured into an aqueous solution of the polymerization reactant to form gelled, substantially spherical hydrated silicate particles.

摘要: In an atomizer wheel for the atomization of liquids by ejection through a number of orifices in the side wall of the wheel, whipping-in of air into the atomized liquid is reduced by provision of a protrusion around the leading edge of each orifice relative to the direction of rotation, whereby the liquid flowing backwards relative to the side wall is guided outside the leading edge of the orifice to a liquid inlet passage at the rear part of the ejection orifice relative to the direction of rotation. The protrusion may be formed by a bushing inserted in the ejection orifice and projecting inwardly from the side wall, at the rear side of which relative to the direction of rotation the inlet passage is formed as a slit.
