Abstract: A 1D ultrasonic converter unit having at least three ultrasonic converters and a control unit for individually controlling each ultrasonic converter, wherein each ultrasonic converter has a housing, a piezoelectric body, and a sound decoupling layer for decoupling sound waves in a gaseous medium, is embedded in a common carrier structure, and emits and/or receives the same frequency between 20 kHz and 400 kHz. Each ultrasonic converter has one sound channel having an input opening associated with one sound decoupling layer, and an output opening. The output openings are arranged along a line, a distance between two adjacent output openings corresponds at most to the whole or half the wavelength of the sound frequency and is smaller than the distance of the input openings.

Abstract: The invention relates to an optical sensor according to the time-of-flight principle for detecting objects in a monitored region, having a first transmitter for transmitting first light pulses into the monitored region, a first receiver for detecting first light pulses radiated back by a first object to be detected in the monitored region, a second transmitter for transmitting second light pulses into the monitored region, a second receiver for detecting second light pulses radiated back by the first object or by a further object in the monitored region, a control and evaluation unit which is designed to control the first transmitter and to evaluate the first light pulses detected by the first receiver and to control the second transmitter and to evaluate the second light pulses detected by the second receiver, characterised in that between the first transmitter and the second receiver a first optical reference path is formed, between the second transmitter and the first receiver a second optical reference path is formed, the control and evaluation unit is designed to trigger the first transmitter to transmit first test light pulses which reach the second receiver on the first optical reference path and to activate the second receiver after a first time offset, the first time offset corresponding to a time of flight of the first test light pulses over the first optical reference path, and/or to trigger the second transmitter to transmit second test light pulses which reach the first receiver on the second optical reference path and to activate the first receiver after a second time offset, the second time offset corresponding to a time of flight of the second test light pulses over the second optical reference path, and to evaluate the first test light pulses detected by the second receiver and/or the second test light pulses detected by the first receiver.

Abstract: A current output apparatus adapted for electrical connection to a load to output an electrical current thereto. The apparatus comprises a current output terminal for connecting to a first terminal of the load to pass an electrical current thereto. A current input terminal is provided for connecting to a second terminal of the load to receive said electrical current returned from the load. A voltage regulator is operable to supply to the current output terminal an electrical voltage regulated to differ from an electrical voltage applied to the current input terminal by an amount sufficient to cause said electrical current to flow from the current output terminal to the current input terminal via the load. Abstract: There is provided a power conditioning circuit including positive and negative power input nodes. An inductor includes a first terminal connected to a positive power input node and a second terminal connected to a positive power output node, the inductor allowing the voltage at the positive power output node to be modulated by data that is sent through a communication interface. A first node is present between the second terminal of the inductor and the positive power output node, and a clamping circuit is connected at the first node to a second node. The clamping circuit is configured to clamp a voltage increase across the inductor to less than a maximum increase. The second node is configured to be continuously held at a voltage higher than the voltage of the first terminal of the inductor.
