    摘要: A satellite radioterminal communications system may include first and second space-based components and a return link diversity combiner. The first space-based component may be configured to communicate uni-directionally and/or bidirectionally with a first radioterminal over a first forward link using a first band of frequencies (F1) and/or over a first return link using a second band of frequencies (F2). The second space-based component may be configured to communicate uni-directionally and/or bidirectionally with a second radioterminal over a second forward link using a third band of frequencies (F3) and/or over a second return link using a fourth band of frequencies (F4). The second space-based component may also be configured to receive return link communications from the first radioterminal over the first return link using the second band of frequencies (F2), and the first and third bands of frequencies may be different bands of frequencies. The return link diversity combiner may be configured to combine return link communications received from the first radioterminal at the first and second space-based components. A satellite radioterminal communications system may also include an ancillary terrestrial network comprising a plurality of ancillary terrestrial components and a plurality of radioterminals. A radioterminal may be operatively configured to establish communications with at least one ancillary terrestrial component, with at least one space-based component and/or with at least one other network, and the at least one ancillary terrestrial component and the radioterminal may be configured to preferentially establish communications thereinbetween to thereby improve at least one measure of communications performance relative to a value of the at least one measure of communications performance when the radioterminal is communicating with an alternate network, such as, for example, a space-based network.     摘要: Cooperative Vehicular Identification Systems and Methods, capable of monitoring and recording vehicular law violations, with the assistance and cooperation of the vehicles in violation, are disclosed. Real-time information from vehicular sensors is communicated to a Central Processing Unit (CPU). Strategically located Interrogator devices, on roads/highways, at intersections, in and around school zones, integrated with traffic lights, etc., issue inquiries/interrogations to passing-by vehicles. Vehicles proximate to such Interrogators respond with unique identifying information and with parameter lists provided by their vehicular sensors. Each Interrogator inquiry can provide data, including the lawful parameter limits (i.e. speed limit) associated with its location. In response to having successfully decoded an inquiry, and in response to the state of its vehicular sensors, a vehicular Transponder may transmit information to the specific Interrogator that has issued an inquiry. The Interrogator then relays relevant identifying information to the CPU for further processing.

The received first radio signal includes a desired satellite uplink signal transmitted from a first source using a frequency assigned to the satellite cell and an interfering signal transmitted from at least one second source using the frequency assigned to the satellite cell. A second radio signal is received via a second satellite reception path, for example, via another antenna or spot beam of the system and/or via a satellite antenna beam of another system. The second radio signal includes a measure of the interfering signal. The first and second radio signals are processed to recover the desired satellite uplink signal.
