摘要： A hand tool having a motor-operated shaft that drives a saw, the motor being rendered operable when pressure is applied to a trigger while a tool-manipulating handle is being grasped. Said tool is provided with a magnetic brake that comprises an electromagnetic coil affixed to the housing of the tool and an armature normally biased away from the coil carried by and rotatable with the shaft, the coil remaining de-energized during operation of the shaft and saw. Said actuator, upon release of the trigger, shifting a switch to cause de-energization of the motor and energization of the electro-magnetic coil to produce a magnetic field effective on the armature to draw it into braking engagement with a brake lining provided adjacent the coil.

摘要： A separable connection between the end of a saw blade and the slide that reciprocates it, the connection including a shoulder screw that tightens two clamp members, one on each side of said blade, one of said members being an integral part of the slide, the shoulder of said screw fitting the enclosed circular portion of a notch in said blade end when the latter is clamped, and said notch having a reduced leadin portion extending from the hole in the blade through the adjacent end of the blade, thereby allowing the blade to be slipped out from between said clamp members when the screw is retracted sufficiently to withdraw the shoulder from the hole, while the screw and the two clamp members remain loosely attached to the slide so a replacement saw may be secured to the slide with easy facility.

摘要： A multi-purpose cutting device for removing the spinal cord and spinal meninx lining of the spinal cord of a slaughtered animal which has been longitudinally cut in two along the length of the spinal cord. The cutting device comprises a rotary cutting tool having a hub with radially outwardly projecting cutting fingers equidistantly spaced apart around the hub. The cutting fingers have blunt ends and are of substantially uniform length. A pair of circular saw blades are rigidly secured to opposite faces of the cutting tool. The saw blades have a circumference that approximately matches the effective circumference of the working ends of the cutting fingers. In use, when the cutting device is powered by a drive motor, the cutting fingers and saw blades rotate in unison. The cutting fingers rotate to remove the spinal cord and spinal meninx from the carcass while the saw blades cut into bone along opposite sides of the meninx. The saw blades assist the cutting fingers in dislodging regions of bone material in which the spinal cord or meninx materials may be lodged.

摘要： The present splitting saw generally comprises an elongated housing one end of which generally constitutes a drive end and the opposite end a driven end for an endless saw blade. The drive end mounts an electric motor connected by gearing to a drive pulley around which the drive end of said saw blade is trained, and the driven end is provided with a takeup pulley over which the opposite end of the pulley is trained.Both the drive and the driven pulleys are provided with radially and uniformly spaced drive pins, and the saw blade is provided with apertures that are spaced to receive the outer ends of said drive pins thereby effecting drive connections between the drive pins and the pulleys and the apertures in the saw blade.
