A locking mechanism secures the carriage in its raised position, and alignment guides position the carriage to make electrical connections as the carriage is engaged onto the support arm.

    摘要： A support pole for raising and lowering a supported object between a lower position and an elevated position is disclosed. The support pole includes an elongate pole and a carriage mounted for translational movement up and down the pole. Carriage locks at the top of the pole engage the carriage in the elevated position to prevent vibration of the supported object, and a stabilizer frame within the channel minimizes vibration during carriage transport. One or more electrical conductors are fixed in place, extending through at least a portion of the pole, terminating in an electrical contact for releasable engagement with a cooperating electrical contact mounted to the carriage as the carriage is raised into the elevated position.

    摘要： A housing for a surveillance camera protects the camera from damage from projectiles, including small firearms. The housing is generally spherical for reducing wind resistance, and is ballistically rated. The housing is formed of three layers to achieve the ballistic rating while maintaining low weight. A rubber-containing thermoplastic alloy provides the outer surface, an acrylic is intermediate, and ballistic aluminum is the interior layer. The camera is fully rotatable, and a ballistically rated hemisphere rotates with the camera while a clear window allows the camera to see. An outer cover is made of acrylic which may be tinted to conceal the camera window. A blower is mounted within the housing at the top thereof, and the discharge may heat or cool the camera drive motor and the rollers that mount the rotatable hemisphere. To achieve the ballistic rating economically, the inner layer is formed of aluminum, and the inner layer is used as the mold for vacuum forming the outer, thermoplastic, layers.

    摘要： A pan and tilt mechanism for a surveillance camera that can pan through two full revolutions. A bell crank has one arm in the path of rotation of a pair of switches, and the bell crank can be shifted to extend the opposite arm. Each arm can be shifted by one switch, but will actuate the other switch to reverse the pan motor. The electrical cord for the mechanism and the camera is wound about the axis of rotation so the cord stays neat and undamaged through all rotation of the mechanism.
