    Abstract: A telescopic adjuster including first and second linear actuators, a connecting platform and first and second telescopic levers is provided. The first linear actuator includes a first screw and a pair of first fixing rings. The first fixing rings are arranged at two respective ends of the first screw. The second linear actuator includes a second screw and a second fixing ring. The second fixing ring is arranged at the end of the second screw, relatively away from the connecting platform. The first and second linear actuators are arranged on the connecting platform in parallel. The first screw pushes the connecting platform to move along the first screw, and the first fixing rings limit a movement of the connecting platform. The first and second telescopic levers are coaxially arranged.

    Abstract: Actuators and methods useful in the operation aircraft flight control surfaces are disclosed. Some of the actuators and methods disclosed may be useful in the operation flight control surfaces when a fault condition such as a jam associated with an actuator is detected. An exemplary electromechanical actuator disclosed comprises: a motor; a first screw configured for translation movement relative to a structure of the aircraft when driven by the motor; a second screw mounted in series with the first screw; and a fuse element coupling the first screw and the second screw together to permit translation movement of the second screw together with the first screw. The fuse element may permit at least partial disengagement of the second screw from the first screw to permit translation of the second screw relative to the first screw. The fuse element may also allow an active flutter damping of the flight control surface. The fuse element may comprise magneto-rheological fluid.

    Abstract: A linear stage assembly comprising a nut having a wall defining a bore which has a nut helical thread which includes: a crest, a root, and a flank between the crest and root; a screw having a screw helical thread about an exterior which includes: a crest, a root, and a flank between the crest and the root; wherein the nut and the screw are in a mating relationship so that the nut flank and the screw flank are in contact with one another defining a contact interface which imposes a frictional force that is sufficiently small to allow generally longitudinal movement in response to an actuation load of the screw or the nut relative to the other and sufficiently large to prevent back drive of the screw or the nut relative to the other after the actuation load is removed and in response to an opposing reaction force.

    Abstract: A marine drive includes an internal combustion engine that drives a propulsor into rotation to effect a thrust, and a transmission that shifts amongst a forward gear for a forward thrust, a reverse gear for a reverse thrust, and a neutral state for a zero thrust. The marine drive further includes a shift rod rotatable about its own axis to shift the transmission amongst forward, reverse, and neutral, and an actuator. The actuator includes an actuator motor that rotates an output shaft and a gear shaft that effectuates rotation of a shift rod. The output shaft is connected to a gear shaft through a first gearset such that rotation of the output shaft causes the rotation of the gear shaft, and the gear shaft is connected to the shift rod through a planetary gearset such that rotation of the gear shaft causes the rotation of the shift rod.

    Abstract: An actuator includes a housing assembly, an actuator shaft, an actuation member, and an anti-rotation rod. The actuator shaft is rotationally mounted in the housing assembly, is adapted to receive a drive torque, and is configured, upon receipt of the drive torque, to rotate. The actuation member is mounted on the actuator shaft, and is configured to translate in response to rotation of the actuator shaft. The anti-rotation rod is coupled to the actuator housing and extends therefrom. The anti-rotation is rod configured to at least selectively engage, and thereby prevent rotation of, the actuation member.
