Abstract:
A belt drive for a machine for printing images on a flat printing material, having a continuous belt revolving during operation, includes a belt guide having stops for two protruding edges of the belt, the edges being oriented in a longitudinal direction of the belt and opposite one another in a transverse direction of the belt; and a machine for printing images on flat printing material having such a belt drive.
Abstract:
A sheet-braking system and method of operation for a delivery of a sheet-processing machine, includes a braking belt revolving during operation and undergoing periodic decelerating and accelerating phases. The braking belt further includes a braking strand passable over a suction region providing a suction effect passing through the braking strand. The suction region is overlapped throughout the duration of a respective decelerating phase, by a respective sheet deposited on the braking strand.
Abstract:
The delivery for a sheet-processing machine, such as a sheet-fed rotary printing press, has several braking devices which are movable transverse to a sheet transport direction. The delivery also has a sheet guiding elements that respectively cover the interspaces between adjacent braking devices at a level of the top edges. The sheet guiding devices are formed from a flexible tape material. The length of the tape transverse to the direction of sheet transport and seen from above is adjustable to the spacing between the adjacent braking devices.
Abstract:
A device for the controlled removal of pieces of waste material is provided. The device has a non-rotatable cylinder shaft having an outer surface; a cylinder jacket having an inner surface and an outer surface and having at least one through-hole extending between the inner surface and the outer surface of the cylinder jacket, the cylinder jacket rotatable around the cylinder shaft; and sealing strips between the outer surface of the cylinder shaft and the inner surface of the cylinder jacket. The outer surface of the cylinder shaft, the inner surface of the cylinder jacket and the sealing means define a pressure chamber and a vacuum chamber, so that upon rotation of the cylinder jacket around the cylinder sleeve the at through-holes alternately connect with the pressure chamber and the vacuum chamber. The waste pieces are created when a pair of knives disposed on the outer surface of the cylinder jacket cut a moving web.
Abstract:
A suction belt conveyor for a sheet processing machine includes an operationally revolving endless suction belt having, at an outer side thereof a filigree structure formed by indentations, the suction belt being formed with penetrating bores terminating in the indentations. In a variation of the foregoing, the suction belt conveyor for a sheet processing machine includes an operationally revolving endless suction belt formed with pores distributed in longitudinal and transverse directions of the suction belt, so that the suction belt is air permeable.
Abstract:
A hurdle board assembly for separating sheet piles in a delivery of a sheet-fed printing machine includes a hurdle board. A plurality of spacer elements are connected to the hurdle board at locations in the vicinity of the border of one surface of the hurdle board. The spacer elements are respectively movable between a condition wherein they are retracted into the hurdle board and a condition wherein they extend vertically from the hurdle board. Respective prestressing devices are provided for prestressing the spacer elements, respectively, in a direction in the condition wherein the spacer elements, respectively, extend from the hurdle board. Respective locking devices are provided for securing the spacer elements, respectively, in the retracted condition. The locking devices are deactivatable from a side of the hurdle board so as to release the spacer elements.
Abstract:
A device and a method for acting upon sheets in a sheet delivery system of a printing press, wherein sheets can be printed selectively on one side and on both sides thereof, includes a sheet tautener having a surface by which it is integrated into at least one adjacent sheet feeding plane, mounting supports for the sheet tautener, and adjacent air nozzles for forming an air cushion on the sheet tautener when the printing press is in a single-sided printing mode for printing on one side thereof and is in a first-form and perfecter printing mode for printing on both sides thereof.
Abstract:
Gripper bar for a delivery of a printing press, the gripper bar being carried at respective ends thereof by transport chains and having a multiplicity of grippers with gripper fingers for transporting sheets includes a hollow profiled member having a boxlike profile wherein a gripper shaft is receivable, the boxlike profiled member being formed with lateral openings through which the gripper fingers of the grippers extend.
Abstract:
Method of introducing an auxiliary sheet pile carrier above a main sheet pile to be removed, the introduction being effected during uninterrupted feeding of additional sheets above the main sheet pile in a sheet travel direction and in synchronism with the travel of a sheet to be deposited, includes controlling respective drives at a sheet delivery by a control device which determines actual data of a printing press, so that the auxiliary pile carrier traverses a velocity profile identical with a velocity profile of the sheet to be deposited in order to avoid relative movement between the auxiliary pile carrier and the sheet to be deposited.
Abstract:
A folding apparatus of a rotary printing machine includes a combination of a plurality of folded-product guiding cylinders including at least one cylinder with adjustable folding blades and impaling pins, and at least one cylinder with folding jaws, and transfer cylinders with gripper devices as well as perforating devices, the folding blades, the impaling pins, the folding jaws, the gripper devices and the perforating devices being adjustably mounted in the respective cylinders adjacent respective outer cylindrical surfaces thereof, a device operatively connected to at least one of the cylinders for automatically adjusting a fold, the adjusting device being actuatable for varying respective operating positions of the folding blades, the impaling pins, the folding jaws, the gripper elements and the perforating elements relative to one another at the respective outer cylindrical surfaces of the respective cylinders, and a remotely controllable drive for operating the adjusting device.
