Abstract:
Disclosed are methods, apparatus, and systems, including computer program products, implementing and using techniques for providing wide area bonusing over a gaming network from a gaming machine provider. Player identification information associated with a player is received. Gaming machine data is also retrieved. The gaming machine data is associated with the player identification information, and includes information particular to one or more gaming machines played by the player. One or more criteria are applied to the retrieved gaming machine data. A player bonus is issued according to the application of the one or more criteria to the retrieved gaming machine data. The gaming machine data can identify a brand of gaming machines played by the player. The gaming machine data can also include data selected from the group consisting of total number of machines played, gaming machine play history, games played, number of plays per machine, number of plays per game, amounts wagered per machine, amounts wagered per game, and gaming machine location. The gaming machine data can be stored on a portable device carried by the player.
Abstract:
Apparatus and methods related to multi-player casino games are described. An electronic gaming device is provided that allows a live player to compete against a virtual player in a multi-player wager-based game. The electronic gaming device can comprise a multi-player game engine that does not distinguish between virtual players and live players. The electronic gaming device can be configured to simulate the decision making of a virtual player and associated behaviors of the virtual player during game play. In some instances, the simulated behaviors of the virtual player output at the electronic gaming device can be learned by a live player so that the live player can make better or more advantageous game play decisions. The simulated behaviors of the virtual player can be conveyed to the live player via visual images, such as simulated facial expressions of the virtual player.
Abstract:
Apparatus and methods related providing city services, such as parking, are described. Methods and apparatus for providing parking rewards programs are described. The methods and apparatus can include maintaining accounts for participants in the rewards program, tracking purchases of parking and other participant activities and determining parking awards based upon the activities. The parking rewards programs can be used to incentivize behaviors that balance the use of the parking space commodity according to the needs of different stakeholders, such as the city, residents, merchants and visitors. For example, parking awards and the criteria used for earning awards can be used to encourage particular behaviors while a parking space is being utilized, such as shopping, the use of public transportation or efficient trip planning.
Abstract:
A method and apparatus for sorting and reconciling vouchers accepted by a gaming machine or other device is disclosed. The gaming machine is configured to generate information relating to each accepted voucher, or provide such information to a remote location. At least one apparatus is adapted to sort bill monies from vouchers retrieved from the cash box of a gaming machine. The same or another apparatus is adapted to read each voucher to determine its identity and value. At least one device, such as a computer including appropriate hardware and software, is configured to determine if the value and identity of the processed vouchers reconcile with the value and identity of the vouchers having been identified as paid by the gaming machine. In this manner, a “soft count” process is performed on a group of intermingled bill monies and vouchers retrieved from a gaming machine.
Abstract:
A surveillance system can include a first sensor apparatus configured to interrogate a subject, including a person and objects carried by the person, with millimeter-wave electromagnetic radiation for imaging the subject. A supplemental source provides additional information about the subject that is relatable to objects potentially carried by the person. Relational information relates the produced image signal and the subject information. The supplemental source may be a second sensor apparatus adapted to detect a given characteristic of an object potentially carried by a person in the subject position. Relational information about whether the person is carrying an object having the given characteristic may then be produced.
Abstract:
Various techniques are disclosed for authenticating a first gaming application adapted for deployment at a first gaming machine that is operable to receive a wager on a game of chance. A first gaming application signature is accessed. In at least one embodiment, the first gaming application signature is associated with a first portion of a first plurality of gaming objects that are associated with the first gaming application. A first certified gaming signature associated with the first gaming application may also be accessed. Authentication of the first gaming application may be performed. In at least one embodiment, the first gaming application may be authenticated, for example, by comparing at least one gaming application signature with at least one certified gaming signature. If it is determined that the first gaming application is not authentic, the first gaming application signature may be analyzed to identify at least one invalid gaming object.
Abstract:
A covert activity monitoring apparatus and conditional response system having a response apparatus comprising a sensor interface and a wireless interface and one or more sensors having a predetermined conditional interrupt that can result in the response apparatus logging an activity for later download and/or transmitting an alarm condition to a remote monitoring system. In addition the remote monitoring system can initiate a locator sequence for the article incorporating the activity monitoring system.
Abstract:
Disclosed are methods, apparatus, and systems, including computer program products, implementing and using techniques for directing future activity of players of games of chance according to defined goals of an operator. In one aspect of the present invention, a plurality of scenarios of player activity is defined. Each scenario includes one or more events to provide a prediction of future player activity. Defined outcomes are provided for each of the scenarios. The outcomes are determined in accordance with the operator goals. Information identifying a player is received. Player information associated with the identified player is retrieved. The player information includes first gaming data and second gaming data. The first gaming data relates to play of a casino style game. The second gaming data relates to play of a non-casino style game. The retrieved player information is compared with the events in the plurality of scenarios. The identified player is classified in one of the scenarios when at least a portion of the retrieved player information matches one or more of the events in the one scenario. One or more awards are issued for the identified player. The awards correspond to the defined outcomes for the one scenario.

Abstract:
The present invention provides systems and methods for protecting transaction information stored in a database of a gaming network. To accomplish this, a transaction signature is generated each time the user completes a transaction on a gaming machine. The transaction signature is generated using transaction information from a particular transaction. The transaction signature and transaction information are stored together in a network database. Upon subsequent access to the transaction information in the database, the transaction signature for the transaction information is recalculated based on the transaction information at that time. The new transaction signature is then compared to the transaction signature previously stored. Any differences between the two transaction signatures may be used to signal unauthorized alteration in the database transaction information.
