Abstract: Imaging systems and associated methods are described. According to one aspect, an imaging system includes processing circuitry configured to: access radar data for a plurality of sampling points at a plurality of different locations of an imaging aperture, and wherein the radar data results from the transmission and reception of electromagnetic energy via an antenna array with respect to a target imaging volume; access a plurality of different weightings that correspond to different ones of the sampling points of the imaging aperture; focus the radar data of the sampling points to generate an image of the target imaging volume; and wherein the processing circuitry is configured to use the different weightings of the sampling points to focus the radar data of respective ones of the sampling points.

Abstract: Systems and methods described herein provide systems for scanning an individual to identify hidden objects carried by the individual. The systems and methods employ imaging masts with transmitters and receivers of electromagnetic radiation. First and second imaging masts transmit and receive radiation on first and second scan paths, respectively, about a central point. The first and second scan paths are in a mirror-image arrangement with respect to the central point. The geometry of the imaging mast scan paths enables the use of multistatic reconstruction algorithms and improved data acquisition as compared to conventional systems and methods.

Abstract: A method comprises performing, by a first coherent radar system on a chip configured to operate in a terahertz range between 0.1 THz and 1 THZ, a first radar scan of a target, the first coherent radar system being in physical contact with a first non-physical scanning device. The first non-physical scanning device then receives first scanning data from the first radar scan, and sends a coordination signal to a second non-physical scanning device. A second coherent radar system on a chip configured to operate in the terahertz range performs a second radar scan of the target, the second coherent radar system being in physical contact with the second non-physical scanning device. The second non-physical device receives second scanning data from the second radar scan, and the first and second scanning data are sent to a processor for a determination as to whether an impermissible object has been detected.

Transformation and processing of different polarizations signals in time domain, frequency domain and multi-axis space domain decreasing false errors probability and enhance identification by spectrum signature.
