    摘要: There is provided a fluid rerouting system for valve bodies that use hydraulic pressure, via a balance pressure line, to move spools. In an exemplary embodiment, the system comprises a valve sleeve having a plurality of ports that are substantially aligned with a plurality of fluid connections in the mating bore, except that no valve sleeve port aligns with the balance pressure line. The system also includes a spool having a plurality of lands that are sized and configured to fit slidably in said valve sleeve. The combination of the valve sleeve and at least one of the lands form a chamber, fluid access to which is via an aperture traversing the land. Means for blocking the access of said balance pressure line to said valve sleeve are also included.

    摘要: A pump-priming device configured to fit within the pump inlet circuit formed in the valve body of an automatic transmission is disclosed. The present pump priming device comprises a fluid-conducting structure having a fluid inlet and a fluid outlet, which is fabricated from sheet metal or flexible tubing and is designed to be installed within the original equipment manufacture valve body as a drop-in-place component. The present pump priming device diverts the flow of automatic transmission fluid (i.e. regulator exhaust fluid) released by the pressure regulator valve, which under normal operating conditions would flow from the pressure regulator valve back to the sump, and to redirect such flow of regulator exhaust fluid back to the pump inlet. Such redirection of regulator exhaust fluid pressurizes the pump inlet circuit and raises the output of the pump to provide adequate transmission fluid flow within the hydraulic system at low engine speeds.

    摘要: An intermediate shaft assembly for an automotive transmission wherein hydraulic fluid intake ports in the rotating shaft assembly are designed to provide increased hydraulic fluid flow and improved lubrication to mating components served by the shaft lubrication circuit is disclosed. The hydraulic fluid intake ports are laterally offset from the center plane of the shaft assembly to increase the angle of entry to fluid entering the intake ports and configured to produce a scooping effect within the fluid surrounding the intake ports upon shaft rotation, which substantially increases hydraulic flow into the shaft and counteracts the inhibitory effect of centrifugal force on fluid flow within the ATF intake ports. In addition, the dimensions of fluid plug orifices and of lubrication outlets on the present shaft assembly have been calibrated to regulate the increased ATF flow and to deliver effective lubrication to the aforementioned mating components.

    摘要: A replacement solenoid switch valve assembly for an automatic transmission system is disclosed. The switch valve assembly includes a switch valve member, which acts in conjunction with an interlocking valve disc set. The disc set is configured for reciprocating movement in tandem and also enables axial shifting movement of the discs relative to one another to support the functions of the solenoid switch valve assembly. This is accomplished by providing an axial stem which projects in perpendicular relation from a first disc. A mating hole in the second disc is radially disposed on the stem in sliding engagement thereon effectively interlocking the discs in alignment. In an installation method of the present invention, the tandem disc set is provided in standard size as a drop-in replacement for valve bodies that do not exhibit excessive bore wear and also in an oversize embodiment for valve bodies showing excessive wear.

In addition, the present intermediate shaft assembly includes a flexible transitional diameter to impart axial flexion to the shaft during peak torque events and also provides semicircular spline relief grooves, which reduce areas of stress concentration and potential breakage of the shaft.

    摘要: A replacement 1-2 shift valve for an automatic transmission, which restores a smooth shift from first to second gear thereby correcting a shudder shift or a complete failure to shift from first to second gear is disclosed. The present 1-2 shift valve comprises a valve piston including at least one bi-directionally tapered valve stem that changes the direction of transmission fluid flow within the valve such that a rebound force is generated which acts to propel the valve piston in an axial direction toward the second gear position of the valve. The piston lands which comprise the valve piston are provided with a plurality of annular grooves that function to retain transmission fluid and to center the valve piston in its mating bore to resist to side loading during operation. In addition, the present valve piston is provided with an anodized surface finish, which increases service longevity.

    摘要: A manual valve for use within the hydraulic control system of Chrysler automatic transmissions. The present manual valve includes flow control structures to vary its standard functions. In a preferred embodiment the manual valve includes a secondary control land, which blocks and redirects hydraulic fluid to an alternate exhaust channel within the present valve when Park gear range is selected. A control orifice meters flow within the alternate exhaust channel and generates a predetermined backpressure to the pressure regulator valve, which provides an increased flow of hydraulic fluid to the torque converter in the Park gear range. This effectively eliminates delayed engagement of the transmission upon shifting into the Drive and Reverse gear ranges. In addition, the present manual valve includes a reverse metering land, which regulates the effect of fluid shock on the reverse servo piston when the Reverse gear range is selected.
