    摘要: A passive motion exercise and/or treatment apparatus is provided which includes a main support assembly for supporting at least part of the body of a user of the apparatus. The assembly includes a first support member and a second support member disposed in a common plane. The second support member is pivotably connected to the main support member and is movable relative thereto so as to provide passive movement of a part of the body of a user supported by the second support member relative to a part of the body supported by the first support member. A separable leg support assembly is adapted to be connected, in use, to the main support assembly at either end so as to support the calves of the legs of the user in a plane parallel to, and elevated with respect to, the common plane while the apparatus provides the passive body movement referred to above. A motorized drive arrangement is used to provide the aforementioned relative movement of the second support member.

    摘要: A dual reflector lighting system having an adjusting assembly for independently adjusting an inner reflector and an outer reflector relative to a gaseous discharge lamp. The lighting system includes a housing having a ballast assembly mounted therein. An elongated tubular adjusting member has one end thereof connected to the bottom of the housing. A lamp socket for receiving a gaseous discharge lamp is mounted to the other end of the adjusting member. The lamp socket is electrically connected to the ballast assembly. The system includes both an outer reflector and an inner reflector mounted coaxially about the gaseous discharge lamp. The outer reflector is mounted to the tubular adjusting member for movement relative thereto to adjust the outer reflector relative to the gaseous discharge lamp. The inner reflector is connected to the adjusting member for adjusting the inner reflector relative to the gaseous discharge lamp. The invention also covers a dual reflector assembly including an outer reflector, an inner reflector and an adjusting assembly which is adapted to be mounted to the housing of a gaseous discharge lamp fixture. The invention also covers a retrofit kit which includes an outer reflector, an inner reflector, a lamp socket and a adjusting assembly for adjusting the inner reflector and outer reflector relative to the lamp of a fixture. The retrofit kit may also include a reduced wattage ballast and a gaseous discharge lamp.

    摘要: A combination tool includes a tool head having a jaw mechanism with two jaws lying in a tool head plane. A first handle is pivotably attached to the jaw mechanism and rotatable in a first direction about a first pivot axle lying in the tool head plane, between a nested position wherein the first handle lies coplanar with and adjacent to the jaw mechanism and a deployed position wherein the first handle is coplanar with and remote from the jaw mechanism. A second handle is pivotably attached to the jaw mechanism and rotatable in a second direction, opposite to the first direction, about a second pivot axle lying in the tool head plane, between a nested position wherein the second handle lies coplanar with and adjacent to the jaw mechanism and a deployed position wherein the second handle is coplanar with and remote from the jaw mechanism. The combination tool further includes a set of blade tools including a first blade pivotably received in the first handle, and a second blade pivotably received in the second handle.

    摘要: An exercise machine has a pair of laterally spaced apart foot pedals, each of which is independently coupled to a frame by a respective articulated linkage. Each such linkage has a generally vertical arm that is pivotally coupled to the frame and a generally horizontal arm that is pivotally coupled to its respective foot pedal. These arms are pivotally coupled to one another such that each foot pedal is free to move with in a two-dimensional envelope of motion in a vertical plane. The linkage members are arranged so that the envelope of motion has a generally ovate shape, slightly inclined to the horizontal. The exercises performed with this apparatus may have both vertical and horizontal components of motion. The vertical arms may be interconnected by a crank assembly to relate the horizontal components of motion of the two linkages in an alternating reciprocating fashion.

    摘要: An apparatus is described for decompressing the spine from a seated position while permitting leg exercises. Two triangular sides have forearm supports which can be set at an angle to the horizontal plane with the angle having a range of 20.degree.-45.degree.. The triangular sides are attached through cross members and have hand grips mounted adjacent the forearm supports. The apparatus rests on a floor, the ground, a chair or similar subsurface. The user positions himself in a seated position between the sides and raises his body by pressing downward with his forearms and hands, thus unloading and decompressing the spine and lumbar back. An optional harness suspended from above the person may be used to maintain continuous decompression of the lower spine between the upward movements executed by the user, or lower body restraints may be used to permit decompression of only the upper spine. A leg exercising device is provided having one or two pedals coupled to a resistance element, such that the user may push one or both of the pedals in opposition to the resistance element.

    摘要: A passive motion exercise and/or treatment apparatus is provided which includes a main support assembly for supporting at least the head and torso of a user. The main assembly includes three support members which, in one mode of operation, are disposed in a common plane. The second and third members are movably connected to the first member, which is a backrest support member, and are movable relative thereto so as to respectively provide passive movement of both the head and, and the lumbar region, of a user. Cervical side bending and rotational movements and lumbar side bending and rotational movements can all be provided. A separable leg support assembly is adjustable to support the calves of the user in a plane elevated with respect to the common plane while the apparatus provides the aforementioned passive body movements.
