A monitoring circuit(s) may detect inoperable electrical power condition(s) (IEPC) on the power-line of a network edge device. Upon detection of an IEPC a backup power source may provide electrical power to the edge device. Upon detection of a connectivity fault between the edge device and its packet sink, a packet sink emulator may emulate a packet sink of the edge device. The disclosed system apparatus and device may be implemented as a SoC (System on Chip).
