    Abstract: A dental implant having a substantially cylindrical shape with a longitudinal axis defining a longitudinal direction, including: a coronal section including a coronal end of the implant; a threaded region extending apically from the coronal section to an apical tip of the implant; and an internal blind bore for connection to a secondary part, including: a stabilizing section extending apically from the coronal end; and a drive and indexing section which extends apically from an apical end of the stabilizing section, which includes a plurality of connecting lobes having a concave shape and extending in the longitudinal direction, being interconnected by respective lobe linking areas, including: two convex sections extending in the longitudinal direction and adjacent to a respective connecting lobe; and a concave section extending in the longitudinal direction between the two convex sections. Further, a secondary part and an insertion tool of a configuration matching the dental implant.

    Abstract: A dental drill guiding system includes a drill guide including a hollow tube having an exterior surface and a guide sleeve including an internal surface defining a through bore configured to receive the hollow tube of the drill guide. The exterior surface of the hollow tube and guide sleeve's internal surface have complementary anti-rotation sections. The drill guide's hollow tube further includes at least one radially extending protrusion limited in the axial extent and formed by an increase in radius of the hollow tube in the apical direction and dimensioned for accommodation in at least one undercut of the guide sleeve, such that when at least one protrusion of the hollow tube is housed in at least one undercut of the guide sleeve the hollow tube is axially retained within the guide sleeve such that removal of the drill guide from the guide sleeve in the coronal direction is prevented.

    Abstract: A torque wrench, including: a head region with a receiving opening; a bending-resistant shaft region adjoins the head region; a support formed on the shaft region; and an actuating lever including an elastically bendable portion and a handle. The receiving opening receives a screwing instrument and defines an axis of rotation. The actuating lever, in resting position, is spaced apart from the in the circumferential direction to the axis of rotation. If a screwing instrument is inserted into the opening, the actuating lever transmits a torque. The wrench has an indicator region, which the exerted torque can be read as a result of the deflection of the actuating lever. When a reference force is reached, the bending portion comes into contact with the support. When a force is applied, the bending portion can be in the tightening direction and the torque can be read in the region.

    Abstract: A dental abutment system including an abutment, an inlay and screw, wherein the screw at least partially occupies the interior channel of the inlay. A method of manufacturing a dental abutment system and to a control data set including a plurality of control instructions that are configured to, when implemented in an additive manufacturing system, to cause the system to execute at least the step of forming an abutment at the distal end of an inlay using an additive manufacturing process. The screw is a captive screw. The interior channel of the abutment is variable in diameter and the smallest diameter is ≥102% and ≤110% of the width of the screw head and the longitudinal axis of the interior channel of the abutment and the longitudinal axis of the interior channel of the inlay are angled with respect to each other at an angle of ≥5 degrees.

    Abstract: A process for the preparation of a topography for improved fibrin network formation and cell mineralization on at least a portion of a dental implant made of a binary titanium-zirconium alloy, the portion being destined to be embedded in a patient's jawbone and to be in contact with the jawbone via a bone-contacting surface, the process includes the subsequent steps of a) subjecting the bone-contacting surface of the dental implant to a sandblasting treatment, b) etching the sandblasted bone-contacting surface, and c) treating the sandblasted and etched bone-contacting surface with water or an aqueous solution for a duration of more than two days, during which nanostructures continuously grow on the bone-contacting surface, the nanostructures extending in at least two dimensions to 200 nm at most. The process is characterized in that the treatment of b) is carried out at a temperature from 40° C. to 60° C.

The system may have a subtractive machine configured to manufacture a base of a dental device from a material blank, and an additive machine configured to manufacture a top of the dental device by adding material onto a surface of the base. The system may also have a controller in communication with the subtractive machine and the additive machine. The controller may be programmed to receive digital data corresponding to a mouth of a particular patient, and to control operation of the subtractive machine to customize the base based on the digital data.
