Abstract:
A motorcycle tire for running on rough terrain comprises a tread portion provided with shoulder blocks each provided with a ground contacting surface whose profile (contour) is a curved line having a radius of curvature not less than 200 mm or a straight line in a tire meridian section including the centroid of the ground contacting surface.
Abstract:
A motorcycle tire for running on rough terrain comprises a tread portion having a unidirectional tread pattern and provided with T-sided blocks having a top surface, a heel-side sidewall surface extending from a heel-side edge of the top surface, and a toe-side sidewall surface extending from a toe-side edge of the top surface. The heel-side sidewall surface has an inclination angle α of from 0 to 15 degrees. The toe-side sidewall surface has a radially outer region having a height of from 20 to 55% of the block height and inclined at an angle β of from 20 to 45 degrees. A radially inner region of the toe-side sidewall surface has: a central part inclined at the same angle β as the radially outer region; a pair of lateral parts located one on each side of the central part and having an inclination angle γ of from 0 to 15 degrees; and a pair of stepped parts extending between the lateral parts and the central part in a direction crosswise to the toe-side edge.
Abstract:
The present invention provides a shock absorber loaded in the inner cavity of a tire enclosed by a tire for a two-wheeler and a rim, which exhibits suitable hardness when starting running and is excellent in cushioning property, both when starting running and during running, due to decrease in hardness as the temperature increases while running. Specifically, the present invention relates to a shock absorber which is loaded in the inner cavity of a tire enclosed by a tire for a two-wheeler and a rim and contacts substantially with the entire inner surface of a tire to be compressed, is circular in the tire circumferential direction and has closed cells; the shock absorber comprising an expanded rubber composition containing at least 5 parts by weight of an organic polymer having a softening point of at least 40° C., based on 100 parts by weight of a rubber component.
Abstract:
An off-road motorcycle tire having a block pattern comprising a plurality of blocks 11 defined by tread grooves 10, each block 11 having a circumferential profile 16 of top surface 12 in the form of a straight line or a circular arc having a radius Ra of curvature of at least 500 mm, in which the circumferential profile denotes a profile in the circumferential section which passes through the centroid G of the top surface 12 and is parallel to the tire equatorial plane Cc. According to the invention, the ground contact pressure at the periphery of the top surface of blocks 11 is prevented from lowering to enhance the edge effect.

Abstract:
A pneumatic tire for use in rough terrain which is provided in the tread with central blocks, shoulder blocks and intermediate blocks; in the tread developed in a plane, the central blocks are arranged circumferentially of the tire at substantially constant pitch lengths P1, the intermediate blocks in each intermediate region are arranged circumferentially of the tire at substantially constant pitch lengths P2, the shoulder blocks in each shoulder region are arranged circumferentially of the tire at substantially constant pitch lengths P3; in a certain number (K) of circumferential positions, the central blocks are aligned with the intermediate blocks in the tire axial direction, the number (K) is in a range of from 6 to 32; these circumferential positions are provided circumferentially of the tire at regular intervals equal to the pitch length P1 multiplied by an integral number (n), the number (n) is in a range of from 3 to 8; and the pitch length P2 and pitch length P3 are equal to the pitch length P1 multiplied by n/(n−1) or n/(n−2).
Abstract:
A pneumatic tire has a tread portion curved so that the maximum section width of the tire lies between tread edges. The tread portion is provided with central blocks arranged circumferentially of the tire at pitches P1, axially outer blocks arranged circumferentially of the tire at pitches P3, and middle blocks arranged circumferentially of the tire at pitches P2 between the central blocks and axially outer blocks: the pitches P1 have a longer length than the pitches P2 and the central blocks, and the middle blocks are substantially aligned every two or more (number n) pitches P1; two or more circumferential positions at which the central blocks and the middle blocks are substantially aligned are provided around the tire; circumferential positions of the axially outer blocks are between the middle blocks.
