Abstract: Ablation catheters and systems include catheter tips with at least one hollow needle that is extendable at an angle from the catheter body to ablate a target prostate tissue while avoiding structures in regions near the prostate tissue, including the urethra, the ejaculatory duct, and the rectum wall. The vapor ablation system has a pump, a catheter that includes a connection port positioned on a proximal end of the catheter, a lumen in fluid communication with the connection port and configured to receive, via the connection port, saline from the pump, at least one electrode positioned within the lumen, and at least one thermally conductive, elongated element having a lumen and configured to be coupled to the distal tip of the catheter such that a proximal end of the at least one thermally conductive, elongated element is positioned at least 0.1 mm and no more than 60 mm from a distal most electrode of the at least one electrode and such that the lumen of the at least one thermally conductive, elongated element is in fluid communication with the first lumen.

Abstract: Ablation catheters and systems include flexible catheter tips with a distal needle or ports for delivery of an ablative agent to a target tissue. Pressure monitoring during ablation ensure operation is performed within safe limits and with desired efficacy. Positioning elements help maintain the devices in the proper position with respect to the target tissue and also prevent the passage of ablative agent to normal tissues.

Abstract: Ablation catheters and systems include multiple inline chambers for containing and heating an ablative agent. The heating chamber includes one or more channels to increase the contact surface area of the ablative agent with the walls of the heating chamber to provide more efficient heating. Induction heating is used to heat a chamber and vaporize a fluid within by wrapping a coil about a ferromagnetic chamber and providing an alternating current to the coil. A magnetic field is created in the area surrounding the chamber which induces electric current flow in the chamber, heating the chamber and vaporizing the fluid inside. Positioning elements help maintain the device in the proper position with respect to the target tissue and also prevent the passage of ablative agent to normal tissues.
