    摘要: A rotary coupling for torque transmission is arranged between two relatively rotatable shafts to transmit a rotational torque in response to a rotational speed difference therebetween. The device includes a housing connected to the first shaft for rotation therewith, a clutch means for transmitting rotational torque between two shafts, and a piston which thrusts the clutch means in the axial direction. The rotary coupling also includes a rotor received in a cylindrical space, in which a high viscous fluid is filled to be compulsorily moved by the rotor. Each side surface of the rotor is provided with plural depressions at regular interval in the circumferential direction. The depressions have inclining surfaces inclining in the rotational direction of the rotor. When a rotational speed difference occurs between the two shafts, wedge effects occur between the inclined surfaces and the housing and between the inclined surface and the piston so that a high pressure is generated in the space section quickly.

In place of the oil grooves, a plurality of concave-convex portions may be formed in the axial direction of a contra-rotating bearing on the inner peripheral face of the bearing and circular portions may be provided on both axial ends of the concavo-convex portions to form the contra-rotating bearing device for a contra-rotating propeller. Thus, a sufficient oil film is formed on the bearing surface of the contra-rotating bearing in an area where the inner shaft and the outer shaft rotate in mutually opposite directions at almost equal speeds so that an excellent bearing function can be obtained.

    摘要: There is disclosed a drive force transmission apparatus which includes a first pressing-force generation unit for generating a pressing force in accordance with a rotational speed difference between driving and driven shafts, and a frictional clutch which is brought into an engaged state by the pressing force generated by the first pressing-force generation unit in order to transmit torque in accordance with the rotational speed difference between the driving and driven shafts. The drive force transmission apparatus further includes a second pressing-force generation unit disposed opposite to the first pressing-force generation unit with respect to the frictional clutch. When needed, the second pressing-force generation, unit is operated to bring the frictional clutch into a firmly engaged state, thereby improving the traveling performance of the vehicle under severe traveling conditions, such as an attempt to extract a wheel trapped in a gutter or the like, traveling on a rough road, traveling on sand, etc.

    摘要: A drive force transmission apparatus includes a housing connected to one of two shafts that are rotatable relative to each other, a rotary shaft rotatably supported by the housing and connected to the other shaft, and a multiple disc clutch composed of a plurality of outer plates engaged with the housing in the rotational direction and a plurality of inner plates engaged with the rotary shaft in the rotational direction. The multiple disc clutch transmits rotational torque between the housing and the rotary shaft through frictional engagement between the outer plates and the inner plates. The apparatus also includes a pressure generation mechanism for generating a pressure corresponding to a rotational-speed difference between the housing and the rotary shaft and for applying the generated force to the multiple disc clutch via a piston. The pressure generating means is composed of a plurality of rotary blades accommodated within a cylindrical space formed between the piston and the housing and rotating together with the rotary shaft, a viscous fluid charged into a plurality of pressure chambers defined by the housing, the piston, and the rotary blades, and a free blade accommodated within at least one pressure chamber. The free blade is freely movable in the circumferential direction between the rotary blades.

    摘要: A control coupling for torque transmission between a pair of rotary members coaxially arranged for relative rotation, which includes a cylindrical casing mounted on one of the rotary members for rotation therewith, a friction clutch assembled within the casing, a piston axially slidably coupled within the casing for rotation therewith and being in engagement with the friction clutch, an end wall member coupled with the casing for rotation therewith and spaced from the piston to form a fluid chamber filled with an amount of viscous fluid, and a rotor disposed in the fluid chamber and mounted on the other rotary member for rotation therewith. The rotor has a plurality of radial blades extending radially outwardly therefrom and being disposed between the piston and the end wall member. The radial plates each have a base portion thickened in an axial direction to increase the amount of viscous fluid stored in the fluid chamber and an outer end portion formed thinner than the base portion, and each internal surface of the piston and end wall member exposed to the fluid chamber is formed to correspond with the opposite surfaces of the radial blade.
