摘要: A tree climbing stick includes a tubular post having upper and lower end portions. Upper and lower standoff-step components include mounting collars which are disposed about the upper and lower end portions. Retaining plugs are disposed into the upper and lower end portions opposite the mounting collars and support the end portions and cooperate to prevent the end portions from moving inward or outward to maintain a tight fit of the joint in use when subjecting to bending loads.

摘要: Methods, systems, and apparatus, including computer program products, for creating test directories and files in a logical storage in a data storage system. The directories include a root directory subdirectories in the root directory. Each directory has a directory key name that has a prefix value; a subdirectory value, the subdirectory value defining a number of immediate subdirectories in the directory; a subdirectory prefix value, the subdirectory prefix value defining a prefix value of each directory key name of each immediate subdirectory in the directory; and a file value, the file value defining a number of files stored in the directory. The contents of any directory can be checked against the directory key name to determine if a data storage error has occurred during testing.

摘要: Systems and methods for alleviating aircraft loads with plasma actuators are disclosed. A method for operating an aircraft in accordance with a particular embodiment includes receiving an input corresponding to an aircraft component structural response to an aerodynamic load. The method can further include, based at least in part on the input corresponding to the aircraft component's structural response, reducing the structural response to the aerodynamic load by activating at least one plasma actuator carried by the aircraft, in accordance with one or more activation parameters.

摘要: An exercise apparatus that has: a frame; a curved ramp comprised of a non-articulating, non-pivoting curved member that defines a unitary curved path of travel between a selected forward and selected rearward position; a foot support adapted to travel along the unitary curved path from the selected forward position to the selected rearward position and to travel along the same unitary curved path from the selected rearward position to the selected forward position; and a handle interconnected to the foot support and adapted to move in the same direction, forward or rearward, as the foot support via the interconnection to the foot support.

摘要: Exercise apparatus and method with selectively variable stabilization enabling a user to progressively increase his/her core body muscular strength. In various embodiments, the exercise apparatus includes a resistance cabling system providing a user defined line of motion, and a partial stabilizer pad being adjustably positionable offset from the line of motion, wherein the user's core body is positionable against the pad and required to resist the torque created by the offset. The user can progressively increase the distance between the line of motion and partial stabilizer pad, in order to progressively increase the force which the user's core body must resist to maintain an upright stature. In this way, the user can progressively, over time, increase his or her core body strength. A vertically and rotatably adjustable handle/arm assembly, resistance cabling and pulley assembly, and an overall exercise apparatus having a relatively small footprint but allowing multiple variable exercise routines, are also provided.

摘要: A process for treating a hydrocarbon-containing feedstock is provided in which a hydrocarbon-containing feedstock comprising at least 20 wt. % of heavy hydrocarbons is mixed with hydrogen, hydrogen sulfide and a metal-containing catalyst at a temperature of 375° C. to 500° C. and a pressure of from 6.9 MPa to 27.5 MPa to produce a vapor comprising a first hydrocarbon-containing product, where the hydrogen sulfide is mixed with the feedstock, metal-containing catalyst, and hydrogen at a mole ratio of hydrogen sulfide to hydrogen of at least 1:10. The vapor comprising the first hydrocarbon-containing product is separated from the mixture, and, apart from the mixture, the first hydrocarbon-containing product is contacted with hydrogen and a catalyst containing a Column 6 metal at a temperature of 260° C.-425° C. and a pressure of from 3.4 MPa to 27.5 MPa to produce a second hydrocarbon-containing product.
