    摘要: An image forming apparatus for generating a stable horizontal sync signal and a horizontal sync signal generating method are provided. The image forming apparatus includes a switching unit to switch on an electric current according to a video signal, a light output unit to output an optical power corresponding to the electric current, which is switched on by the switching unit, an optical power controller to control an intensity of the electric current switched on by the switching unit, and a printer engine unit to output an optical power control voltage to amplify the intensity of the switched-on electric current during a horizontal sync signal generation period included in the video signal. Accordingly, a stable horizontal sync signal is generated, and the deterioration of the quality of a print job is prevented.

The optical scanning unit includes a resonant mirror controller scanning light emitted from a laser diode on a photoconductive drum, a first receive light sensor which receives the light scanned by the resonant mirror controller, and outputs a first horizontal synchronization signal which determines a start position of optical scanning according to the received light, and a video signal controller, responding to the first horizontal synchronization signal output from the first receive light sensor, controls the laser diode so that light corresponding to a video signal is emitted. In the optical scanning unit, a video signal controller can receive a plurality of horizontal synchronization signals (SOS; Start of Scan) through only one input pin irrespective of the number of receive light sensors which generate horizontal synchronization signals (SOS; Start Of Scan), which correspond to a start position of optical scanning.

    摘要: A method for controlling moving time of a sled in consideration of deviation between decks when initializing an optical disk reproducing apparatus. The method includes the steps of: (a) measuring the time required by the sled for traveling a predetermined number of tracks of an optical disk, calculating a one (1) track moving time from the measured time, and comparing the calculated one (1) track moving time with a reference one (1) track moving time; and (b) lowering the voltage applied to a sled motor if the calculated one (1) track moving time is faster than the reference one (1) track moving time, and otherwise increasing the level of the voltage. As a result, the problem of variation in the sled's moving time according to deviation between decks is resolved, and deviation in access time between different decks is reduced, thereby improving the stability and reliability of the system.

Thus, the electrophotographic image forming apparatus and an image forming method improves picture quality by compensating for variations in a supply start point of image signals that result from optical power changes.
