    摘要: The invention provides a recording media player and a recording media recorder provided with a high-security copy protection system of less complexity. A recording media player and/or recorder provided with a copy protection system stubborn to attacks and highly flexible in dealing with recording media of various copy conditions. For this purpose, various distributed copyright protection information (DCPI) values are used. The DCPI values include water marks in case of an MPEG stream, Copy Generation Management System (CGMS) codes, EMI (encryption mode indicator) in case of an IEEE1394-1995 interface, and user defined DCPI values. The recording is achieved such that DCPI values are recorded in user-unrewritable (or user-inaccessible) areas of the recording medium as long as possible.

    摘要: A receiver sends a first random number to a transmitter. The transmitter generates a sync signal in response to the first random number sent from the receiver. The transmitter embeds the sync signal and key information in a second random number to generate a composite signal. In the composite signal, the sync signal is a position indicator for the key information. The transmitter sends the composite signal to the receiver. The transmitter generates an encryption key from the key information. The receiver detects the sync signal in the composite signal sent from the transmitter. The receiver extracts the key information from the composite signal in response to the detected sync signal. The receiver generates an encryption key from the extracted key information. The encryption key generated by the receiver is equal to that generated by the transmitter. Thus, the transmitter and the receiver hold the same encryption key in common.

At least one picture is captured, and thereby still-picture data is generated which represents at least one still-picture frame corresponding in picture capture timing to one of the moving-picture fields represented by the moving-picture data. Components which correspond to said one of the moving-picture fields are removed from the still-picture data to generate supplementary still-picture information. Link information is generated which represents the picture capture timing correspondence between the still-picture frame and said one of the moving-picture fields. The moving-picture data, the supplementary still-picture information, and the link information are recorded on a recording medium.

    摘要: Pictures are successively captured, and thereby moving-picture data representing a stream of moving pictures is generated. At least one picture is captured, and thereby still-picture data representing at least one still picture is generated. The still picture corresponds in picture capture timing to first one of the moving pictures. Link information is generated which represents the correspondence in picture capture timing between the still picture and the first one of the moving pictures. Offset information is generated. The offset information designates a second one of the moving pictures which precedes the first one of the moving pictures by a prescribed time interval. Correspondence information is generated which includes a pair of the link information and the offset information. The moving-picture data, the still-picture data, and the correspondence information are recorded on a recording medium.
