    摘要: A push-pull signal is detected from light reflected from a disk-shaped storage medium on which wobbling grooves are formed as recording tracks and address information is recorded by forming pre-pits on lands between adjacent grooves. A fundamental amplitude variation signal indicating the fundamental amplitude variation of the push-pull signal is acquired, and a reference voltage is generated by adding an offset voltage to the fundamental amplitude variation signal. Pre-pits are detected by comparing the push-pull signal with the reference voltage. Because the reference voltage is produced on the basis of the fundamental amplitude variation signal indicating the variation components of the push-pull signal due to the wobbling of grooves and noise, the variation components due to the wobbling and noise are reflected in the reference voltage. Furthermore, the variation components of the push-pull signal corresponding to the pre-pits are also reflected to a properly small extent in the reference voltage.

The end of the resistor is connected to a grounding conductor GND. The monitor circuit receives a signal from the monitoring output. The monitor circuit generates a signal for monitoring a current IL flowing to the discharge lamp.

    摘要: A discharge lamp lighting circuit includes a DC/AC converter, a starting circuit, a control unit, a plurality of switching elements driven by the control unit and a series LC resonance circuit. At the time of lighting the discharge lamp, the driving frequency of the switching elements is set to a value higher than a resonance frequency at a time of lighting the discharge lamp thereby to drive and control the switching elements. When the driving frequency reduces and the extinction of the discharge lamp is detected, the driving frequency is shifted to a frequency region which is higher than a resonance frequency at a time of extinguishing the discharge lamp thereby to restart the lamp. Further, when the driving frequency reduces to a value lower than the resonance frequency at a time of lighting the discharge lamp during the lighting of the discharge lamp, the driving frequency is restored to a frequency region higher than the resonance frequency at a time of lighting the discharge lamp.

    摘要: A discharge lamp illumination circuit 1 has a DC-AC conversion circuit 3, which effects DC-AC conversion and boosting upon receipt of a DC input, and a starter circuit 4. Power output from the DC-AC conversion circuit 3 is controlled by means of control means 6. The DC-AC conversion circuit 3 has an AC conversion transformer 7; a plurality of switching elements 5H and 5L; and a resonance capacitor 8. The switching elements are activated by the control means 6, thereby causing serial resonance between the resonance capacitor 8 and a leakage inductance component of the AC conversion transformer 7, or between the resonance capacitor 8 and an inductance component 9 connected to the resonance capacitor 8. Provided that a resonance frequency achieved during an extinction period of the discharge lamp 10 is denoted as f1, the operating frequency is first regulated to a frequency level deviating from f1 and then gradually reduced so as to approach f1 in connection with a no-load voltage which is applied to the discharge lamp before illuminating.

    摘要: A recording and/or reproducing apparatus for an optical disc in which the loop gain variation in tracking servo control can be suppressed to cause the illuminated laser light to follow correctly the recording track center. An optical disc recording/reproducing device 1 detects a traversing signal generated when the laser light traverses a track at the time of tracking servo pull-in and sets the amplification degree of a GCA 4 so that the push-pull signals will be at a predetermined level. The optical disc recording/reproducing device 1 holds the amplitude of the wobbling signals on memory as an initial setting value. On starting the recording or reproduction, the optical disc recording/reproducing device 1 monitors the amplitudes of the wobbling signals during the recording or reproduction to compare the amplitudes to the initial setting value. The optical disc recording/reproducing device 1 sets the amplification degree in meeting with the ratio of increase or decrease of the wobbling signals to control the GCA 4 and the gain of the push-pull signals.

Then, the most appropriate gain of the automatic equalizer is determined when a training signal is received by the automatic equalizer. An echo replica signal produced by an echo canceler is multiplied by the value obtained by dividing the most appropriate gain by the initial gain. Thus, the echo replica signal is corrected to cancel the echo signal included in the output of the automatic equalizer. The sampling rate of the A/D converter used in the transmitter and receiver is shifted by a predetermined value from the transmission line rate at an initial training stage. Thereafter, the sampling rate of the A/D converter is determined to be near that of the transmission line.
