The digital broadcast receiving apparatus includes a data separating unit that separates the encoded stream of a tuned broadcast program and a plurality of latest tuning information from a digital broadcast stream, on the basis of stored tuning information recorded in a tuning information table, a decoding unit that performs a decoding process on the separated encoded stream, and a tuning control unit. The tuning control unit concurrently executes a first reception confirmation process to decide whether first tuning information included in the latest tuning information is consistent with the stored tuning information and a second reception confirmation process to decide whether second tuning information in the latest tuning information is consistent with the stored tuning information. The tuning control unit executes the first and second reception confirmation processes concurrently with the decoding process.

    摘要: The present invention provides a digital broadcast receiver which reduces the time needed for channel scans by performing efficient channel scanning when broadcasts in a plurality of broadcast protocols are received. As a first phase channel scan, a first controller and a second controller divide a plurality of channels included in an overlapping frequency band of a first broadcast protocol and a second broadcast protocol, and execute parallel channel scans. After the first phase channel scan, the first controller scans channels in which electrical signals generated from electromagnetic waves received by a second tuner in the first phase channel scan could not be demodulated by a second demodulator, and the second controller scans channels in which electrical signals generated from electromagnetic waves received by a first tuner could not be demodulated by a first demodulator.

When the received packet data is stored in a memory (53) and the packet data is output in accordance with time information added to the received packet data, a clock frequency deviation between a sending device and a receiving device is calculated on the basis of the integration result of the amount of the received packets temporarily stored in the memory (53), the number of the received packets which have been processed, and the measurement result of the integration time used for integrating the amount of the received packets. A read timing offset of the received packet is obtained on the basis of the calculation result of the clock frequency deviation.
