摘要: A vertebra connection member has: a screw member that is screwed in a vertebra; a connector member that connects a rod and the screw member; a first nut member that fixes the screw member and connector member; a second nut member that prevents the loosening of the first nut member; and a fixing member that fixes the rod and connector member. The first and second nut members are formed to have a cylindrical shape; and engagement concave portions of a concave curved shape are formed in the outer peripheral surface of the nut members from the rear ends in the screw-in direction to the front ends in the screw-in direction, in the direction in which the nut members are screwed onto the second male portion.

摘要: A connector for vertebra connection members that connect a plurality of vertebrae via a rod includes: a connector body that has formed therein a rod orifice into which the rod is inserted, a fixing member orifice into which a fixing member that fixes the rod inserted into the rod orifice is screwed, and a screw member orifice into which a screw member to be screwed into the vertebra is inserted, and that connects the rod and the screw member to be screwed into the vertebra; and a diameter adjusting member that is inserted into the rod orifice and has formed therein a convex curved surface that abuts against the rod orifice and a concave curved surface that abuts against the rod. The screw member is inserted into the screw member orifice and fixed to the connector, and the rod is inserted into the rod orifice into which the diameter adjusting member has been inserted and is fixed to the connector.

摘要: Surgical prosthetic modular devices used singularly or stacked together are provided for use to replace excised vertebral tissue. The devices are rigid plugs, dimensionally similar to normal vertebral bodies, and have ridged faces to engage adjacent vertebral bodies or to interdigitate when stacked. Ridges extend in both the medial/lateral and anterior/posterior directions to prevent slipping in the anterior/posterior and medial/lateral directions respectively. A locking screw may be used to secure a stack to form a singular rigid prosthetic device. The devices are also provided with a plurality of threaded openings. In the method of this invention, a device is used to replace excised vertebral tissue, threaded bolts are inserted into the threaded openings, and other spine stabilization devices are attached to the bolts. In corporectomies, the device can be bolted to a plate, which in turn is fixed to adjacent vertebrae. In spondylectomies, the device can be fixed to a series of posteriorly placed rods.
