摘要: A prosthesis for primary artrodhesis can be used for artroplasty and a prosthesis for artroplasty comprises members for artrodhesis. The prosthesis (1b) for primary artrodhesis comprises a locking member (33b) with an attachment portion (16b) which is insertable into a hole (8b) in a first attachment member (4b) of the prosthesis for location of the locking member therein, and a lockable member (34b) integral with a second attachment member (5b) of the prosthesis. The lockable member (34b) is configured for adjustable setting thereof relative to the locking member (33b) and for fixation thereof, in set position, to the locking member. Alternatively, the lockable member comprises an attachment portion which is insertable into a hole in the second attachment member for location of the lockable member therein. At the prosthesis for artroplasty, the hole in the first screw-like attachment member is partly configured to define a press fit with an attachment pin of a socket member and partly threaded to permit, after removal of the socket member, during artrodhesis, securing by screwing in the hole of the locking member for cooperation with a lockable member which is configured for adjustable setting thereof relative to the locking member and for fixation thereof, in set position, to the locking member.

摘要: The present invention provides an intervertebral implant for implantation in a treated area of an intervertebral space between vertebral bodies of a spine. The implant includes a spacer portion having an inferior and superior surface, wherein the inferior and superior surfaces each have a contact area capable of engaging with anatomy in the treated area, and the inferior and superior surfaces define a through-hole extending through the spacer body. The present invention further provides holes extending from a side portion to the inferior and superior surfaces of the spacer portion and a plate portion rigidly coupled to the spacer portion, wherein the plate portion contains holes for receiving screws. A fastener back out prevention mechanism adapted on the plate to prevent the back out of the fasteners from the holes and to secure the spacer to the plate of the intervertebral implant.

摘要: A vertebral fixation plate system and a method for its use in a surgical procedure to fuse adjacent spinal vertebrae. A mounting member is attached to the vertebral fixation plate so that the fixation plate can move with respect to the mounting member through a range of available positions. The mounting member can be attached to a spinal interbody fusion device installed in place of a removed spinal disc, thus also loosely fastening the vertebral fixation plate to the fusion device. A fastener can tighten the vertebral fixation plate to the mounting member and establish a location of the vertebral fixation plate with respect to the vertebrae to be fused. Confronting surfaces of the mounting member and the vertebral fixation plate cooperate to keep the vertebral fixation plate in a desired location while it is fastened to the vertebrae being fused.

摘要: The invention relates to an intervertebral fusion implant for fusing two adjacent vertebrae (9, 9′), comprising a base piece (2) and a top piece (3) which in each case are designed to come to rest against a facing end plate (92) of one of the adjacent vertebrae (9, 9′), wherein the top piece (3) is vertically adjustable relative to the base piece (2), wherein a ratchet device (4), which effects a vertical adjustment in steps and secures a set height against reversion, is provided between the base piece (2) and the top piece (3). Thus a defined expansion can be achieved which is dependent upon the number of actuations. Precise control over the state of expansion is enabled in a purely haptic manner. Furthermore, implantation instruments are provided which are configured as parallel spreaders and have a stop as spreading path limiter or co-operating force and path measuring device. Thus it can be implanted more reliably, wherein the risk of overloading or injury to the vertebrae and the nerves and ligaments of the vertebrae is decreased.

摘要: A fixation assembly having a driver, a holding sleeve, and an alignment mechanism is disclosed. The driver may include a driver body and a coupling extending from a distal end of the driver body. The holding sleeve may have a holding sleeve body, a channel extending through the holding sleeve body, and a fixation element coupler disposed at a distal portion of the holding sleeve body. The channel may be configured to receive the driver, and the fixation element coupler may be configured to temporarily hold a fixation element. The alignment mechanism may extend from the holding sleeve, and may have at least one alignment member configured to engage an underlying structure to which the fixation element is to be affixed so as to align the fixation element and driver assembly with respect to the underlying structure.
